Their relationship had been very rocky at first and most people said that they would never get to this point at all. But they had proved everyone wrong, Rachel thought as another pang of pain hit her.
"I think it's time," Rachel told Octavian who was trying to sneak off with a teddy bear. "Are trying to glimpse what our child is going to be again, Tavian?"
Stopping in his tracks with the look of a deer caught in the headlights Octavian turned to her. "Did you say you think it's time?" he asked pretending he didn't hear the other question.
"I did. And don't pretend..." She doubled over in pain.
"Let's get you to the doctor." Octavian told her. Racing to get the baby bag that Rachel had packed for when she went into labor with their child. He helped Rachel up and out to the car she had insisted that they buy. Today Octavian was really happy he'd listened to her. He helped her into the passenger side tossing the bag into the back seat and racing around to the driver's side.
"Don't pretend you didn't hear my other question though," Rachel finally got out what she had been trying to say before the pain had overwhelmed her. "You know I want it be a surprise, Tavy."
"I'm sorry, dear," he said as he drove as quickly as he could without getting into trouble.
"We have to hurry."
"I"m going as fast as I can."
Blue and red lights came flashing from behind them and Octavian swore heavily as he pulled over. Watching as the officer took his sweet time getting to the driver's side of the car he sighed.
"Do you know how fast you were going, sir?" the officer asked.
"Yes," Octavian sighed. "I have to get my wife to the hospital before she gives birth in our car." He pointed to Rachel who was obviously in the middle of a very painful contraction.
The officer seemed to take pity on the young couple and told them to follow him. After that the drive the rest of the way to hospital didn't take that long for which both Octavian and Rachel were thankful.
"Thank you, officer," Octavian said as he helped Rachel into a wheelchair outside the hospital.
"No problem, young man," the officer told him. "Good luck."
Rachel was taken right up to delivery after she was looked at. Octavian could sworn that babies took a while to be born. If that was the fact then why was theirs going about being born so quickly, Octavian thought as he followed after the doctor and his girlfriend.
After about almost an hours worth of screaming and pushing their son and daughter were born. Octavian beamed down at his girlfriend of almost three years in pride. They had the most beautiful babies alive.
"What shall we name them?" Rachel asked tiredly.
"How about Apollo and Delphi?" Octavian suggested. "Because their mother is the oracle of Apollo like Delphi was."
Rachel nodded with a small smile. "I like it," she whispered as the nurse took their children to clean them and get them dressed.
