"We want a word with you…"
By Daniel Rainey
"He's due soon."
"Yes, and he's got a lot to answer for."
Two people, a man and a woman stood waiting in a dark wood at night. The sort of cliché wood that would appear in a horror movie, complete with vampire bats and maybe a werewolf or nine. The man was getting fed up with waiting; he'd already trodden in a muddy puddle twice and tripped over a tree root. On top of that he now had a robin perched on his head.
"Well when he does arrive I'm going to make sure he answers for what we've been through while waiting," the man said as the Robin gave a little chirp.
"It's only a Robin. It isn't going to annihilate you or trap you in a photograph," the woman said.
"You can never be too sure."
"Wait, listen."
A loud groaning noise rose in the air, a wind whipped up and the Robin flew away in fright.
"And don't come back," the man shouted after the Robin.
The noise and wind died down as an old battered Police Box materialised in front. Of them. The door opened and a man wearing a long striped scarf stepped out. He didn't look pleased to see them.
"Doctor, we want a word with you," the man said seriously.
The Doctor stared at them for a few seconds.
"Goodbye," he said suddenly and nipped back into the Police Box which vanished with the same groaning and wind.
"Well that didn't go to well did it Sapphire," the man said as the Robin landed back on his head.
"No I suppose not, but I think that Robin likes you Steel," Sapphire said smiling.
"Shut up Sapphire."
