Marvelous. Thought Pearl as she examined the "Stepper Box" in her hands.

It was hard to believe that a box made from stuff that could be found in any 99 cents store(and a potato)...Could transport a person to hundreds of alternate earths.

The AI who was the reincarnation of a Tibetan Repairman named Lobsang smiled.

"Yes, it really is something isn't it? It's a new age my dear, a new age. And like any new age there is the promise of endless wonder...But also the hidden threats of catastrophe."

"Which is where you want us to come in?" Asked Garnet.

Lobsang nodded. "The government has revived the "Homestead act." They want to subsidize as many parts of the long earth under "Aegis Law" as they can before other governments can."

The crystal Gems considered this. I'd get to see other worlds again. Thought Pearl in wonder.

It might be nice...plus with the Homeworld Gems coming it might be safer if humanity was elsewhere. Thought Garnet rationally.

Meh, there's nothing on TV anyway. Thought Amethyst with a shrug.

While they mulled things over, Lobsang continued to pitch. "As you maybe already aware your neighbors in Beach City are considering taking up the Homestead Act. If you were to take up our offer of paving the way for all the pioneers that come after you. We would be more than willing to give them the plots of land for free and finance whatever they needed to come with you."

"Would that include Connie?" asked a voice behind them. They all turned and saw Steven listening in tentatively.

Lobsang smiled. "I'm sure we can work something out." He said optimistically.

"Then I'm in!" Shouted Steven excitedly.

Garnet smiled. "I guess were in too then." "Wonderful!" Exclaimed Lobsang...
