Marinette snuggled under the covers, mind already lost in reruns of the previous day.
She could see how stunning he looked, posing for the camera on that stupid runway, because even though she can tell that the designs complemented him and that he did the same for the designs, her emotions being the jumbled mess that they were, detracted from the ability to focus on the design that was being shown off.
None of the other models caused this in her; all of them did their job, made her appreciate the designs more, left the wake of a little bit of inspiration in her heart.
Adrien often left her mind a jumbled mess; he was still an inspiration, don't get her wrong, but there was only so much that she can focus on with fashion when Adrien Agreste appeared before her.
Seeing him step across that stage, aware of the effect that he had on people, left her heart in a jumbled mess; they'd known each other all of this time yet he still always brought this out in her, always left her heart singing, and her mind racing.
Marinette sighed, softly, hopefully soft enough that Alya couldn't hear her as they got up, it had finally ended, and while she loved it, and it had inspired her, she still felt relieved.
She stepped closer over towards the backstage, their VIP passes letting them slip through, and she barely avoided running into, actually running into, Gabriel Agreste.
Marinette sighed yet again, this time more audibly, but she finally found the room that she was looking for; she knocked on the door and smiled when she heard Adrien's voice, "Coming."
He left the room looking a little more like himself, still gorgeous, but in a bit more casual clothes and had managed to wipe off all of the makeup from before.
Marinette smiled though the words that she should say did not immediately jump into her mind, and she was still a mess from watching him light up the stage, light up the room.
"You did great." Marinette felt vaguely surprised that her old stutter hadn't come back after losing so much of her train of thought.
"Thanks." He looked slightly embarrassed, and Marinette remembered that he was used to this, dreaded these days, so she hoped that he'd be able to slip away from modeling for good soon even though it left her in a daze to simply watch.
