First Naruto/Boruto entry. Hope you all enjoy. Many of you can relate to this, I'm sure. I know I can as the older brother of three sisters.

"You guys are so lucky, ya know?"

Inojin and Shikadai looked up from their handhelds and gazed at Boruto confoundedly.

"What do you mean, Boruto?" asked Inojin. "How are we lucky?"

Shikadai read his friend's expression and instantly gathered what he meant. A playful smirk inched up the corners of his lips.

"What did Himawari do to you this time?" he snickered. "Did she use her Byakugan again?"

Boruto glared kunai into his two friends as they chortled. Even after all these years, that incident was not a laughing matter to the oldest Uzumaki child. On that day, he swore that he would never make her mad ever again.

"No," he shot. "She's getting to be that age where she's moody and stuff all the time. Just the other day, she came home in a bad mood and almost bit my head off when I asked what happened." Boruto's mood grew darker. "I swear to God, if Dad did something –"

"You ever think maybe you're a little too hard on him?" Inojin said, hoping to steer his friend away from the tangent he was about to go on. "Cut him some slack, why don't you?"

"Easy for you to say. You guys aren't the ones living with him and dealing with all the shit he puts us through."

The Yamanaka boy and Nara heir shrugged and turned their attention back to their game. Things stayed silent for a few more minutes before Boruto spoke again.

"You guys are lucky that you're only children," he murmured. "Kinda wish I was too sometimes."

Shikadai sighed. "But sometimes being an only child is such a drag," he said. "I wish that I had another sibling to take some of the heat off me from my mom. Maybe it would help calm her down too."

"Not me. I'm happy being an only child," Inojin grinned proudly. "There's no one to take away my parents' attention from me."

"That's because your parents are so lovey-dovey with each other," Boruto glared at the Yamanaka boy. "I just wish Dad wouldn't make Mom so upset sometimes."

"I know it's hard, Boruto, but you can't change what family you were born into," said Shikadai. "At least you have someone to look after and protect, unlike the two of us."

Boruto shrugged. Shikadai was right: He loved Himawari to pieces and would do anything for her. With Naruto not around that much, he essentially has been the main male figure in her life. He wouldn't trade that for anything.

He was so lost in thought he didn't see the playful smirk cross his friend's lips. "So tell us what really happened when Himawari used her Byakugan on you."

"Don't. You. Dare!" the blonde hissed as the two boys doubled over in laughter.

Short, sweet, and to the point. I found it interesting to think that sometimes Boruto wishes he was an only child like his friends, but they sometimes wish they had siblings too. Hope you guys liked it. Leave a review telling me what you think.
