Yeah, another short one-shot, this time a songic, that I wrote this summer. My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion.
Disclaimer: I don't own anything. All I know is that I can sing the song in the shower.
When the casket was lowered into the ground, she couldn't take it anymore. She had to get out of there. She would grieve for him on her own and he would understand. He always understood.
"Ziva?" McGee called, always the caring friend.
"Timmy, she'll be alright, she just needs some time," Abby said quietly, when Ziva ignored him, not able to look back.
She got in her car and drove away from the horrible place, a place she wished she never had to go to for someone she cared so about. She kept a stony expression her face the entire time.
After what felt like hours, she made it to her apartment building. The elevator, which she shared, was very tense the entire ride.
Once inside her apartment, Ziva could feel herself breaking down, losing her stony outer coating, leaving her with a mushy ball of emotions. Within seconds, she was in a heap on the floor, bawling her eyes out, thinking of nothing but him.
Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you
That is how I know you go on
She had dreamed about him since he had died. In those dreams, he had felt so real. Once, he even told her that he was happy where he was, and when her time came, she would join him there.
Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you go on
He was somewhere unknown, but it was happy. And he would remembered by many.
Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on
The moment they first met, Ziva had felt something. She was afraid of it, and wouldn't admit it to anybody. When she finally decided to tell him, he was shot in the chest, piercing his heart, causing him to bleed out. She whispered it in his ear as he was dying, and he said the same to her before taking his last breath and closing his eyes eternally.
Love can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go till we're gone
Love was when I loved you
One true time I hold to
In my life we'll always go on
She loved him. She'd always love him. He would always be in her heart, no matter how drastically her life changes, no matter how many doors she opens and closes.
Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on
She would keep him safe in the corner of her heart, where she kept people she loved, like Tali. He would guide her through her fears and she would learn to accept love and not be afraid of it.
You're here, there's nothing I fear
And I know that my heart will go on
We'll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on
When she woke up the next morning she felt refreshed. More importantly, she felt safe.
Ziva knew he would always be there, protecting her, but she needed to let him know that she knew he was dead. That he couldn't be physically there anymore.
"Goodbye, Tony," she whispered into the air around her. "I love you."
"I love you, Ziva," she could hear him say, next to her ear.
