Disclaimer: I do not own Ruins of Fantasy but I must think Rachel Young for the short but interesting story.

This is a one-shot for all you people who think Daiki should have lived. (Sort of….)

I hate you

What had the words meant? They seemed to float in his mind, making him confused. Who had told him that? Could it have been someone that he liked….or someone that hated him and he hated as well?

Light filtered through the window, causing the man to stir, a woman leaning over him. "Excuse me, but you might not want to move. The wound you sustained is very bad."

He opened his eyes, a woman with light green eyes meeting his boldly. "You keep saying a name: Daiki. Are you Daiki?" She asked softly.

The man nodded, watching the light haired woman pull away. "I'm Anna. It's nice to meet you Daiki. Do you remember where you were from?"

Daiki frowned, bits of long green hair falling in his face as he shook his head. "No…do you have…roses around?" He asked, wondering what the smell around the woman was.

She smiled, moving to push her hair back. "Yes, I do. I do rather enjoy roses, as you can probably tell." Anna murmured softly. "Let me help you sit up." She added, moving to help him up.

He glanced around the room, looking at the flowers with a small smile before glancing at the woman. "Thank you for helping me," he murmured as a small, four year old child ran over, clinging to her mother's skirts.

"When is daddy coming back?" She asked Anna quietly.

"I'm sorry honey, your father died, in the war. I really did tell you that he wasn't going to come back dear. Please, stop asking." Anna said gently, picking up the girl as Daiki watched them.

"She's cute." Daiki said softly, looking up at the girl with a small smile. "What's her name?" He asked curiously.

"Rose," Anna said, smiling slightly as Daiki groaned, a pain shooting through his side as he scene changed. "The girl that grew up to kill you," a voice said, Anna shifting slowly as the scene changed. "Daiki, come to terms. Give up on fighting. What is the point of dying if you want to go back?"

"She did not kill me." Daiki whispered eyes wide as the words once again flashed through his mind. "Did she…?"

"Of course she did, why else would you be in the land of the dead? I am Lord Thanatos. Agree to one thing…and I can make your dreams come true, Daiki." He mused. "To see your family, to watch your children grow as you would have if you have lived; you just have to do one thing for me." The dark haired man said, crossing his arms.

Daiki shifted, closing his eyes before nodding.

"Breathe," the man whispered, stepping forward as Daiki did as told, breathing deeply before feeling his mouth flooding with liquid.

Thanatos laughed, red eyes glittering. "I am the Lord of Death. I control your soul, I know your heart. Close your eyes, envision your family. Go to them, and live in their dreams; be a ghost to them." Thanatos whispered.

Daiki shivered, opening his eyes in confusion. Darkness was what greeted him sounded by a sharp cry of pain that sounded like…Rose. Nothing made sense…anything but that he had died…and nothing ever made sense before….did he love the woman in pain?

I don't love you…do I?
