It was late, way late. And why was she still there? One reason, and he was sitting at his desk 15 feet away from her. Se should leave. But for some reason, a reason she did not want to think about right now, it felt good to be close to him.
"God, how late is ito." He looked at his watch it read 12:15. God! Why the hell am I still here! He looked up and saw her, awwww thats why. I didn't know she worked this late, she looked gorgeous like this, her suit jacket and shoes discarded, with her feet propped up on the chair opposite her.
He is on call tonight so there is no point in him going home but why the hell is she still here, he might as well ask her. He walked up to the doorway of her office, she didn't notice him at first, to wrapped up on what ever she was looking at on her computer. He knocked lightly on her door, she looked up from her computer her green eyes met his in surprise, but soon that surprise was softened with a smile as she relaxed back into her chair.
"Goodness, lieutenant, you startled me."
"Sorry Shar-Captain" she noticed the mistake and smiled. "Why are you here so late, are you on call?" He asked.
"Oh no I'm just" She looked down at her computer "well, wasting time it seems" Andy looked confused."I'm online shopping" She said to clarify.
"Ahhhh, yes, thats how I waste my time too."
"Really?"
"No sharon. Its called sarcasm" She laughed in response.
"Well, I think I'm going to head home." Andy said.
"It is getting late, I think I'll head that way too."
"I'll wait, so I can walk you out."
Her heart fluttered. A blush dared to creep up to her cheeks.
After a moment she looked up at him, her slightly riled state probably showing, and said "Okay, thank you."
"Of course, you ready?"
"Yes, lets go." She grabbed her bag slipped on her heels and started to walk past him.
"How do you wear those things" He said pointing at the five inch platform heels strapped onto her feet.
"I don't know, I guess I've gotten used to them."
"Well, they make your legs look great." she looked at him in shock.
"Lieutenant, I..."she stuttered out a response
"What Sharon! I'm just being truthful." He flashed her a charming grin
"I like it when you call me that" She said softly
"I like saying it.
They walked out of the building into the parking garage in silence, one of Andy's hands protectively on Sharon's lower back leading her to her car.
She got out her keys from her purse and unlocked the car. She looked at Andy, a look he hasn't seen before
"Is your car far from here?"
"No just around the corner" he said, while he put both of his hands into his pockets and looked at his shoes.
"Okay then, goodnight Andy, see you tomorrow."
"Goodnight Sharon."
She got into her car, and Andy watched her drive away.
