A/N: My first drabble in the Sherlock fandom. I've been a fan for a long time but never dared write for it but I figured I'd give it a shot. Here's young sherlock. I read somewhere that Mycroft is 7 years older than Sherlock so that's what I went with.
The house was silent. Father was at work and Mother had decided a nap was in order and had left 13 year old Mycroft in charge. The only sound was the sound of the curtains billowing slightly from the breeze emanating from the open kitchen window. It was one of the rare sunny days in England. Sherlock closed his eyes and tried to tune out all other senses and listened.

His striking eyes snapped open as he pinpointed the direction of the sound. He slinked quietly past mother's bedroom and winced as the rubber sole of his slippers caught on wood floor and let out a conspicuous squeak. He pushed down the embarrassment at the "rookie" mistake and continued the search. The young Mr. Holmes paused in the doorway of every room and assessed its occupancy. The living room was empty. The glass frame from the art work hanging on the wall gave a weak but visible reflection of whatever lay behind the couch and it was clear to see that it was empty. He moved on to the bathroom but again, clear. Finally, he entered his bedroom and looked around. The piles of books and jars were still askew atop his nightstand. His toys rested in the exact same sequence in the pile. Bed was made and his pirate hat was featured proudly . He was about to move on in his search when he saw it. A slight wrinkle in the floor rug. Sherlock surely would've noticed such a thing had it been present earlier. Clearly, something had changed since he'd last been in here.
"Mycroft." He thought to himself.
everything was still except the nearly imperceptible flutter of the bed skirt. With a satisfied smirk on his face, the younger Holmes strut over to the bed, bent down and lifted up the fabric to reveal his older brother curled up there.
"Found you!" He exclaimed proudly.
"Yeah you did. Ok, now it's your turn to hide and I'll seek."
Thanks for reading. Please leave me a review. God bless.
