Mock Funeral
AN: I rewrote the scene from 9-16-2011 with Todd and Tea and Jack and Todd. This story is written from Victor's point of view.
"Victor?" I heard Tea ask. Marty grabbed my arm and shook her head no. I knew that she was right that I couldn't reveal to Tea that I was still alive. There was so much that was riding on my "death," but she had called my name. Did she know that I was there?
I cautiously peeked around the corner and saw that Tea wasn't alone. The man that she thought was me was my twin brother Todd Manning. I saw the hope in Tea's eyes turn into hatred and anger when she realized that the man that she had mistaken for me was really Todd.
"What the hell are you doing here? You hated Victor and he hated you. You murdered him." Tea screamed as she burst into tears.
"You're right I didn't like him, but I didn't want this for him. At the end of the day he was my brother, I could never kill him. I'm very sorry for your loss," Todd said as he pulled Tea into a hug.
Tea pushed him to the ground. "You shouldn't be here. I loved Victor and he loved me in a way that you never could. Get the hell out of here," Tea screamed. Todd got off the floor and walked away.
I couldn't stand to see Tea in this much pain. I desperately wanted to hold her in my arms and let her know that everything would be okay. For a minute I forgot everything that Marty and I had been fighting for and I stepped forward to reveal myself when Marty grabbed my arm and pulled me outside.
"I know that you hate seeing Tea grieve for you, but Tea's pain has to be real or Irene won't believe you're dead. We need her to believe that you're dead so that you can find the disc that she's been looking for before she does. We need leverage and power over her or she'll kill everybody we care about." Marty whispered to me. I knew that Marty was right. If Irene believed that I was dead she would never see me coming and I could destroy her before she destroyed our families.
"You're right, we should have never come here. I just wanted to see Tea before we left. Let's get out of here before anybody sees us," I whispered to Marty.
We walked through the cemetery, trying to stay hidden in the surrounding trees when Marty suddenly stopped. I looked ahead and saw that her eyes were riveted on my brother and Jack. Bo had shown up and was placing the cuffs on Todd. "We have to stop this, Todd didn't do anything. He shouldn't have to go to prison for something he didn't do," Marty whispered to me.
I knew that Marty was tempted to reveal that I was alive just like I had been when I saw Tea grieving for me and I knew that I had to stop her just like she had stopped me. "We can't. The truth will eventually come out it always does. I know you love Todd and it's hard for you to watch him be arrested."
"I don't love Todd," Marty objected.
"I'm sorry Marty, I don't believe you. I've seen the way you look at him, it's the same way I look at Tea and if anyone knows how strong your feelings for Todd go, it's me."
"We don't have time to argue, let's get out of here before we get caught," Marty stated.
Marty and I had gotten inside our car and drove away before anybody saw us. I knew that it would take time but eventually Marty and I would be able to come home and when that happened Todd would be exonerated and Tea could stop grieving, but for now the world had to believe I was dead.
