Linda yawned, tired from a hard day at work writing articles. Working for a newspaper was hard work, but worth everything.
"Hello, Linda!" Isaiah popped into the room with a friendly greeting.
"Oh, Isaiah, what a surprise," she looked up. "What on earth are you doing here?"
"I came over because... Well..." he stumbled awkwardly.
"Isaiah," she asked knowingly, "Are you asking me to marry you?"
"Well, yes," the apparently blue haired man with glasses admitted.
It didn't take a second for Linda to give her answr. "I DO!" she excalimed.

Seven years later:

Linda and her son stood in the kitchen. Phineas enjoyed spending time with his mother. She always gave him wise advice and sometimes even presents... On this particular day she gave him something very special indeed.
"There's something I want you to have," said Linda.
"What is it, mom?"
"It's a locket," she explained, handing him the string of gold. "See how it opens? You can put pictures inside. One in each half."
Phineas smiled mischevously. "I know just whose pictures I'm going to put inside."
"And just who might that be?"
"It's a surprise!"
That night Phineas ran straight to his room and put two pictures in his locket. One of his mother, Linda and one of his dad, Isaiah. It was then that he heard a serious sounding conversation taking place outside his door.
"Please, Linda. I have to be a scientist. It's all I can do!"
"That's not true, Isaiah. What about Phineas?"
"You know I care about Phineas, but we'll have to send him to an orphanage. It's just too dangerous."
Phineas couldn't believe what he was hearing. Scientist? Orphanage? He'd known his parents had been worried about something lately, but he never would have imagined something so terrible...
"I'm not going," he thought to himself, tears streaming down his face.
