AN: This is a response to Vicky199416's challenge 'Happiest moment of their lives' Because I have trouble writing accents, I've temporarily dropped Seamus's accent.

What is the happiest moment in a person's life? I've heard that question asked a fair few times recently and it seems to me to be a question of perspective. For example, if you were to ask me when I was eleven the happiest that I'd ever felt, I'd have said the time I walked into Hogwarts for the first time. A lot of eleven year olds would probably say that, I reckon.

At the end of our first year, when we won the house cup after being thoroughly thrashed was a good candidate for the happiest that I'd ever felt back then.

Then the war came and Voldemort returned and times grew very dark indeed. When I saw Dean at Hogwart's, just before the battle began, I felt so happy that he was still alive that I was sure that I couldn't feel any happier than I did then, although when Harry defeated You-Know-Who, probably came a close second.

When Susan Bones agreed to marry me, I was so happy that I actually thought that I would die from happiness and I reached a new level of happiness that I didn't realise was even possible.

But by and far the happiest moment that I've ever experienced is definitely the time I first held my baby girl in my arms. Nothing beats that, not the survival of best friends or the defeat of Dark Lords or even hearing the person you love say yes to marrying you. No, the greatest pleasure is when you become a parent for the first time.
