BIG BROTHER

AUTHOR'S NOTE/DISCLAIMER

This takes place after "The Green Candle Pt 2" during the dance that Tommy asked Kimberly to. Power Rangers belongs to Haim Saban and Nickelodeon. I only own the premise.

Jason, Zack, Trini, and Billy smiled as Kimberly and Tommy walked in.

"So, he finally did it," Zack approved.

"Looks like," Jason commented as the two approached them.

"Hey, guys," Kimberly greeted with a smile.

"Hey," the other four chorused.

"How you feelin', Bro?" Jason asked.

"Better. Not quite as shaky," Tommy answered.

"That's good," Jason approved. "Listen man, can I talk to you in private for a sec?"

"Yeah, sure," Tommy answered, frowning in slight confusion. He didn't seem mad, but one could never tell.

"Jason, don't scare him," Kimberly warned as they started off.

"I won't," Jason assured.

"It'll be fine, Kimberly. Jason's just merely taking it upon himself to assess Tommy's intentions and make sure you're adequately compatible," Billy stated.

"Huh?" Kimberly and Zack asked.

"He's just checking to make sure that Tommy's intentions are pure and that they're a good match," Trini explained. Jason waited until they were in a secluded corner.

"Look man, I'm glad you asked Kim. We've all grown tired of you dancing around your feelings for each other, but as her honorary big brother, I have to do this," Jason began.

"Okay, relax. I like her, I'd never hurt her when I'm myself, I'll protect her, I'm not after what most guys are-" Tommy started to say.

"Good. Because if you were, I'd have to drop kick you," Jason interjected. They laughed. "Look man, I just want to make you sure you have her best interests at heart. That's all. I mean, she's gone out with some really big losers before," he continued. Then, "Not that you're a loser!"

"Dude, trust me, I get what you're saying," Tommy stated. Then, "I think we better get back to the others before they think you've killed me." They laughed and rejoined their friends.

"So Big Brother, do you approve?" Kimberly teased.

"Your date is…" Jason trailed off. Everyone leaned in and Tommy's eyes clouded and his stomach clenched. Come on, man. Do I pass or not? he wondered. "Approved!" he finished.

"Everyone laughed. Then, a fast song started.

"Come on, everyone! Let's boogie!" Zack exclaimed, and together, they hurried onto the dance floor.
