The Kiss from Annabeth's Perspective:

I laugh, my hands shaking as I process what's going on, and say "I am never, ever going to make things easy for you, Seaweed Brain. Get used to it." And then I completely throw caution to the wind, lean in, and kiss him. It's probably one of the smartest things I've ever done. And then I hear someone growl from behind us

"Well, it's about time!" forcing me to whirl (unwillingly) away from Percy to see Clarisse, followed by most of the camp, charging into the pavilion. Of course. I finally kiss the moron and we can't even have a second.

"Oh, come on!" I moan "Is there no privacy around here?" Evidently not. They lift us, crowing, onto their shoulders and set off, naturally, for the lake. Dumping us in, they laugh some more. I force my eyes open underwater to see his perfect green ones considerably closer than I thought. He beckons me even nearer and forms a little air bubble around us.

"Now who'll have the last laugh?" he jokes, pulling my face to his again. All our inhibitions are gone. We've fought monsters, demons, and the gods themselves. The only thing left to do is love each other as hard as we can until Fate intervenes once again. I twist my fingers into his hair, swearing that will never happen, that not even death can tear this apart. He hugs me tighter, silently repeating my vow. We're together forever without a word.

Finally.
