He was already shaking before the Dementors entered the room.
She grabbed his hand.
"Close your mind to them," she snarled, "I taught you to."
He pulled his hand back. "Some of those people aren't sure about me," he told her. "I'll let everything out. He's just a child, they'll say. And maybe, afterwards, I'll be the only one able to go on. Find him."
"Child," she whispered back, "Don't get your hopes up."
She cringed away from his shaking form.
She needed her strength for herself.
"Don't worry," he murmured, "you taught me well."
She couldn't smile, not then.
