Here is my Percy Jackson Fanfic that I said I would write. It will (probably) start out slow as I try to find time to write.
- Karl -
Karl, a young teen with light skin tone of respectable height with rather short, brown hair, a skinny body and relentless brown eyes, was walking to one of his friend's house on a clear summer Ohio day. Now Karl wasn't surprised easily, as he lived by the motto, expect the unexpected. But then something extraordinarily strange, even surprising him, occurred. A guy dressed in a ranger's dark green, leather-looking armour with dark skin of average height strolled down the street toward Karl as if they were good friends, and that this occurred every day. The man reached into a pouch on his belt and pulled out a small pocket knife. Then he said, in a medium pitched voice with an obvious southern accent, to Karl, "There are villainous beasts on the prowl and you have been chosen to be a champion of God, giving you eyesight to pierce the Mist. This weapon, or should I say, these weapons, will serve you well to defend yourself from them. Also, watch out for Roman and Greek demigods. Now that you are a champion, their magical weapons can and will hurt you." Karl, who spoke in a deep, gruff voice, while nervously fiddling with his family ring on his right index finger, started, confused, "The... What? What mosters or demi-" the man cut him off by handing him the small pocket knife to Karl and said, "Once you get to your house, there will be what appears to be a tablet. There are three magical armor sets for you to choose from, each with their own pros and cons. All are made of Holy Platinum, a special metal meant to be fairly resistant to Greek and Roman weapons, as well as dragons, sea serpents and other, ah, assorted monsters. Once you choose a particular set, as soon as you desire, you should only have to think about it and it will appear to protect and, or conceal your identity." There was starting to be a quiet, distant noise that sounded suspiciously like the flapping of giant wings. As the sound got closer, Karl felt as if he knew there was some sort of dangerous beast, one of the fire type, to be exact, coming toward them. As it got close enough to be visuble, Karl did an extreme double take, and shouted "What the—Dragon?!" The ranger replied calmly, "Aye, and now you get to test one of your new weapons." Karl pulled out the pocket knife and flicked the middle and longest blade out, which transformed into what appeared to be a 5 foot long, glowing, as Karl was informed, Holy Platinum jousting spear which had a leather grip beneath a lockable hinge, and the gleaming gold word Hecht, which Karl could somehow understand to mean Pike, along its shaft. He saw the ranger draw a pair of platinum daggers, on which Karl could make out the words Recht, Right, and Gesetz, Law, as the gargantuan crimson-scaled dragon landed. The dragon spewed a jet of white flame at the ranger, who deftly rolled to the right and sprang at the beast, which was already spinning around to meet him. Karl hefted Pike with two hands, thinking, Might as well help the man. Karl launched himself toward the dragon as it was distracted by the ranger and caught it right beneath where he somehow, with a sort of sixth sense as he would find out, knew where its heart was. The dragon bellowed- a horrendous sound that could be confused with the sound of a Fellbeast from Lord of the Rings (of which Karl was a big fan) - and spewed fire about randomly, in all directions. Karl shoved all of his weight onto the spear, shoving it up into the lizard's heart, slaying the foul creature. Karl pushed the lock on the hinge and Pike instantly folded back up into pocket knife form, to which Karl muttered, impressed, "Cool." The ranger turned to him and nodded, declaring, "Good ole' MR was right, as always. He knew there was something in this small town with an affinity for killing dragons. You will make a fine addition to our twelve Champions. You, ah, will be joining, assume?" Karl replied, moderately confused, "Sure, why not?" The ranger sighed in relief, "I'll let Ändar give you the basics on where to go for the meeting, where MR will give you the basic rundown of how this life works. Oh, yeah, better introduce myself. I'm Zeddichai, but the rest just call me Zed, the Thief Hunter." He held out his hand, which Karl took, replying briefly, "I'm Karl, nice to meet you." "Well," Zed started, "I'd better get going. See ya 'round, kid." With that, he strolled off, whistling what sounded like "My Country, 'Tis of Thee." Karl retrieved his phone and informed his friend that he would not, in fact, be coming over that day. His friend, William, inquired, "Does this have anything with those jets of fire I saw streaming into the air just now?" Karl replied, quizzically, "It might. I just can't be there today, sorry. Probably not ever," he ended the call right after that. As he trudged home, he wondered at how his friend could have seen the fire from all the way at his house.
- William -
William, a young teen, with pale skin, the same height as Karl and much more muscular with short blond hair and light blue eyes, was okay with the fact that Karl wasn't coming. He "forgot" to mention to Karl that his girlfriend, Christina, was over. She had lighter tan skin and was much shorter than Will and skinny with shoulder length dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. They were sitting on couches in his living room chatting, when they heard a scream-like roar. He looked out his window and saw jets of white flame shooting into the air, but at this distance he was surprised he could see it. When he got the call from Karl, he was not actually very surprised to have heard that the fire might have been related to something Karl did. Karl was, after all, very strange in his mannerisms and moderately mysterious and secretive in his history and personality; few knew very much about him. After he told Christina, things got a little too strange for him to bear. First, there was a loud thud on the door. Will looked outside to see a large lizard with blue-green scales and multiple acid-dripping heads, what he would later learn was a hydra, was slamming into the door, spewing acid at it, melting the door, as if it was trying to find something. The lizard-thing managed to burst through the door, some of it's heads fixed upon Will, some on Christina, both of whom were paralysed in fear. Just as the creature was about to disintegrate them, it dissolved into a cloud of glowing golden dust. Where it had been, stood a older teenager with dark skin, who was tall and muscular with longer black hair and pale green eyes dressed in light combat armour, sheathing a bronze sword. He looked up at Will and asked, in a musical, obviously very well tought in correct pronunciation, voice, "Might you know anything about the dragon carcass down the road? It appeared as if it were very professionally slain." Will shook his henw, replying, extremely confused, in a medium, kind of nasally, voice, "No. What was that twelve-headed dinosaur... Serpent... Thing?" Christina nodded her head as if to say she had the same question. The armoured boy replied, shocked and excited, "You could actually see it?! We need to get you two to Camp." "Whoa, whoa, whoa, chill out," Will started, "What camp?" The teen replied, "Camp Half-Blood for demigods such as us," he motioned to the three of them including himself, "Chiron will want to meet you."
Sorry if William's part was kind of bad. Tell me whether it was bad, good, or in between and please tell me where I can improve so that you guys will be happier with me.
