A Typical Morning for Marge
Homer was fast asleep when Marge awoke as usual and he was snoring loudly. She dressed, left the room and headed for the kitchen. On arrival she opened the fridge to discover that, once again, Homer had invaded it during the night and eaten all the Doughnuts. She sighed, removed the now empty packet and took out some bacon and rolls for breakfast. She began buttering them when the phone rang. It was Principal Skinner.
"Hello
Mrs Simpson. It's Seymour again."
"Oh no what has Bart done
this time?"
"He has
covered the side of Mrs Krabappel's car with the words "I love
Seymour" in permanent marker pen."
"Oh I'm sorry Seymour.
I'll have a word with him and tell him to behave himself more in
the future. I'm sure washing all the teachers cars would be a good
enough punishment wouldn't it?"
"I
suppose so. This behaviour really needs to stop though."
"Yes
I understand. Thank you for informing me."
Marge put the phone down and sighed. Just as she turned back to the rolls Lisa came in.
"Good morning mother! How are you on this fine morning?"
"Oh you
seem happy!"
"We have a Math test later!" Lisa was smiling
so much Marge had to struggle to keep a straight face.
"That's nice dear! I take it Bart's ill again then?"
"I think
so!"
"Well he's going to school today whether he likes it or
not!"
Lisa laughed and Marge started cooking breakfast. A little
while later Bart came downstairs groaning.
"Mom I
have a stomach ache. I'm not going to school today."
"Nothing
to do with the Math test then?" asked Marge.
"What Math test?"
asked Bart trying to fake being genuinely surprised.
"You know exactly which Math test Bart! Mrs Krabappel specifically said we had to revise thoroughly for it! Remember?" Lisa said rolling her eyes at her brother.
Bart glared at Lisa and said "I'm not going to school today!"
"Yes you
are Bart!" Marge replied sternly, "Especially after what you did
to Mrs Krabappel's car!"
Bart groaned, "Who told you about
that?"
"Principal Skinner rang and told me that you need to sort out your behaviour!"
"But Mom…"
"No buts Bart!"
Bart sighed and kicked his sister.
"Bart leave Lisa alone!"
Bart stood up and walked out, slamming the door behind him. Marge rolled her eyes at the space where he had been sitting and started serving breakfast as Homer came in looking tired.
"Morning Homie!" Marge said smiling at him looking sleepy as usual.
"Breakfast?" he asked.
Marge laughed and passed him 4 bacon rolls which he immediately devoured. Lisa drank a smoothie as usual and headed off to her room to get her school books.
"Homie Bart's been annoying Mrs Krabappel again." Marge said.
"Has he?" Homer asked as he stuffed another roll into his mouth.
"Yes he has and I'd like you to talk to him about it!"
"Cant
you?"
"Homie you're his father! He's more likely to listen
to you!"
"But think of all the TV time I have to waste talking to the boy? What's his name again?"
Marge sighed, shook her head and started on the lunch boxes for the day. She put sandwiches, crisps, cake and a piece of fruit in each. Homer looked at his lunchbox and screamed.
"Homie what is it?" Marge asked looking concerned.
"What…. What's…. that?" he asked pointing to an apple and slowly backing away into the corner.
"It's called fruit Homie!"
Homer screamed again and Bart and Lisa came running in and cried "What's going on?"
Marge replied, "You're father is scared of apples!"
Lisa laughed but Bart said "Damn right!" and went into the corner with Homer.
"You two are weird!" Lisa said and grabbed the apples out of their lunchboxes and added them to hers.
"Go on Bart get your stuff ready for school!"
"I ain't going!"
"Yes you are!"
"It's not fair though!"
"Neither was what you did to Mrs Krabappel's car!"
Bart snorted and went upstairs to get ready for school. Homer left for work and a few minutes later the school bus arrived. Bart and Lisa left for school and Marge was left alone with Maggie.
