Jynx spent his day much the same way as most people did, working. Which is why he was quite relieved when the clock on the side of the small bookshop he worked in hit 7 pm. This wasn't because he hated his job, he loved it. The ability to spend most of his time reading while waiting for a customer to pick out a book was relaxing.

He had spent most of the day cleaning up the shop due to someone breaking in. As odd as it was to break into a bookstore, it was odder still that instead of taking anything they had instead left something. That something was a book. He used the term book lightly as it was more of a tome. The pages were old, and the cover was leather, on its cover was an inscription a kitsune. Its fur was pure white signifying it as an Inari messenger. The tome was itself was entitled, Inari's gift.

That made him even more suspicious, mainly because Inari was one of the few kami that he actually prayed to, hell he even had a small shrine in his home. Of course, it didn't help that he couldn't open the dammed thing. There were no bindings that he could see, no straps or chains, and certainly no locks. Yet no matter how hard he tried he could not pry the dammed thing open.

the drive home was rather uneventful compared to his day at the shop, though Jynx could swear he kept seeing something blue flash out the corner of his eye. Pulling into the driveway he quickly exited the car and began to unlock his door. Normally he wasn't in such a hurry, but he could not shake the feeling of being watched.

Placing his keys and the book on the table he made his way to the couch and sat down with a sigh. He was being paranoid, and it had started with that book. He couldn't help but wonder if he should go and set it on the shrine, just in case. yes, he thought that would be for best.

With a tired grunt he made his way over to the table and grabbed the book. He turned to start towards the back of the house, then stopped, something was different about the book, it was warm. Why was it warm books shouldn't be warm, with startled eyes he scanned over the tome with a gaze trained over years of observing his books. He felt incredibly stupid when he finally figured out what was different about the book. It wasn't locked anymore. With a tentative flick he opened the book and began to read.

Hi there, if you are reading this then your one of my followers and you have been chosen to participate in one of my projects. This project will begin in exactly ten seconds, have fun, Inari.

The book suddenly dissolved into a white mist before flying into him, startled Jynx had time for one last thought before his vision went black, well shit.
