So yeah, this is my first fanfic, so please review!

Prologue

The young she-cat shifted her black and silver paws. "Is there anything else you need me to do, Rosedusk?" she asked, stifling a yawn.

The medicine cat's eyes grew tender. "You can go rest, you've worked off your paws today, Juniperpaw!" She meowed, resting her tail-tip on the apprentice's shoulder.

Juniperpaw dipped her head gratefully, turning and padding back into the medicine den. Settling comfortably in her nest, she closed her eyes.

The grass felt soft under her paws. She glanced around to see a grey she-cat padding towards her.

"Welcome to Starclan," The cat meowed, her eyes warm. "I am Dovestar."

Juniperpaw dipped her head respectfully, then cocked it to one side, confusion sparking in her eyes. "Why am I here?"

Dovestar turned away, beckoning her with a flick of her tail. "I have something to show you, young one. It could not wait until the half-moon, or it would be too late." She began to pad through the trees, Juniperpaw following.

"But why me?" she asked. "Why not Rosedusk?"

Dovestar's ears twitched to acknowledge her words. "Starclan sees great things in you, young one. We fear Rosedusk would not take our words as seriously as you."

They reached a small waterhole, highly reminiscent of the Moonpool. "Look down there," Dovestar angled her ears towards the water. "Tell me what you see."

Juniperpaw peered into the pool cautiously. The waters rippled and an image appeared. "I see… the Thunderclan camp?" she meowed, a hint of confusion in her voice.

"Look closer," Dovestar said gravely. Juniperpaw leaned towards the water. Up close, she could see the smoothly cut cliffs were spotted with… blood? She gasped out loud. "Who's that cat, standing on the Highledge?" It definitely wasn't Flamestar.

Dovestar raised her head, her green eyes filled with sorrow. "He is coming. And nothing can be done."

Juniperpaw jolted awake, panting. "Juniperpaw?" Rosedusk meowed, alarmed.

"Thunderclan," She gasped for breath between words. "Thunderclan is in great danger."
