Revelation

The wounded were coming in non stop for hours. And the shelling felt like it was getting closer by the minute. In a moment the war will do its best to forget, a priest ran from his tent attempting to avoid sniper fire as the surgeons grabbed as many wounded as they could. Time stood still as the priest saw his friend Hawkeye fall to his knees; a blood soaked back facing him. He raced over and knelt by his friend whose face was now towards the ground. He turned him over. And with a touch of his wrist, found no life. As he knelt up, he felt a piercing pain shoot through his back. Within seconds his body laid on top of his friends.
After the shooting ceased, the aftermath was atrocious. The surgeons that remained were devastated by the loss of Hawkeye, and the entire camp mourned the loss of their Chaplain.
On the first quiet night, Captain BJ Hunnicutt, found himself in the priest's tent. He sat on the chaplain's chair and peered over at his bible, which lay open on his bed. The cap of the marker was still off and laid in the middle of the bible, the verses underlined gave him the only comfort he could find in a war torn Korea...his own tears seeping through the page…
"…he will wipe every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; mourning and crying and pain will be no more, for the first things have passed away. "-(Revelation 21:4)
