Funny how things work out, isn't it?..
Less than 24 hours ago she thought everything could be different, a life far away from Riley and his lies, a new beginning with her recently found love and a future ahead.
Everything just happened too fast.
First she was all alone in her second life, then Diego showed up and changed her for good, together they learned about the whole new experience that was out there begging for them to live through it… too bad she would never know what does freedom feels like.
She had let Diego die, she had fall for Riley's damned lies and ran to her own death, she knew there was nothing anyone could do to save her now. She knew it when she met the dark cloaks' leader eyes… that one they called Jane.
There was no other emotion there than hate, she hated everything and everyone...but Bree knew what she hated the most… These yellow-eyed vampires and their human pet, or whatever she is to them, were Jane's personal nightmare but as she couldn't attack them without a motive, that little devil would release all her rage on the petite newborn in the middle of the field… and everybody knew it.
Bree fell to the ground screaming in agony, Jane just smiled in satisfaction… Then the burnt on the young vampire's body stopped, still leaving her in a very poor condition. Barely conscious of the vampires around her, she heard somebody said something about Riley and Victoria, the vampire that made her this monster, being killed, and Bree shocked.. but in a sick way, she was happy they had burnt them after they had took Diego away from her. She smiled on the inside.
Now she owed everything to that family, yeah… that was the word to describe them, after they spared her life and killed the ones that trashed her only chance of happiness, she was going to die, but she could at least let the yellow-eyes they had to watch their backs from those hooded angelic faces.
So she let her memories flow to that strange redhead mind reader that was holding the human girl, Riley's speech before sending the newborns to battle, Victoria's conversation with Riley and most importantly, the visit of the dark cloaks to her house, he just gave her a quick glance and nodded in an almost imperceptible way.
She reserved her memories about Diego to herself, those were private, sacred to her because those held the few moments she had truely felt good, when blood hasn't been everything to her, when she had been at peace. She just immersed in those memories waiting for the unavoidable.
"Take care of that, Felix. I want to go home..." Jane said in a bored tone.
"Don't look" The redhead said.
And Bree closed her eyes… Forever.
