AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is a poem about the King of Red Lions and his hope for the Future. Well R and R! No flaming please! Thanks! Oh and do not own The Legend of Zelda, but you probably already know that don't you?
The Regret of the Past, The Hope of the Future
His life was full of waste and regret
Wishing every day he'd done this or that instead
He'd lost everything he'd nourished and cared
Then, came the crash and nothing was spared
There wasn't a day he never stopped living in the past
Never looking to future's hope at long last
His dreams were washed away in the flood
Faint legends were all his dreams had become.
The darkness of his choices haunted him in his dreams
Eroding his forgiveness of self, tearing up his heart's seams
Now, what was there to pass on?
For the next generation, he had nothing at all.
Suddenly, he looked into a distant future and he saw golden sand
There before the children of this time lay the promised land
He suddenly realized that there was no need to mope,
He reached out to the children and gave them hope.
It was all he had now, his only treasure and wealth
A treasure sustaining them, no matter what darkness dealt
This was a light that could not be snuffed
Would give them strength when they'd just have enough.
Now, seeing his purpose was fulfilled and complete
It was time to join his ancestors and sleep
This next generation had a future as bright as the sun,
The beginning of another prosperous age had just begun...
