A/N Harry Potter crossover. Warning: really sad
I stood in the halls of Sky High broken and bleeding. My hero outfit was torn and had the blood of all my friends and other hero's who had died tonight fighting for their right to survive. So many died tonight, it is something that was haunting to all who saw.
I limped clutching the bleeding bullet wound as I walked down the hall. Frightened teens were huddling against the wall making a path for me.
My hair was a green when I was a hero. Miss Vines they called me. My outfit was a dark green dress that had leaves printed over it and fell to my knees, a crown of vines on my head. My feet bare with tattooed vines coiling around my legs. I had green lighting bolts that were tattooed around my eyes. (Granted when I was me they vanished)
I continued to walk, limping, as I did, till I finally fell, not because of the loss of blood or the broken leg, but because of the exhaustion I felt. How I wished I was one of those students huddled against the wall thinking that saving the world was the easiest thing in the world.
No, it was anything but, my friends had died before my very eyes, one by one, Zack, then Magenta, then Ethan, then Will, then finally Warren.
Fire was all around them; it looked like a war zone. I ran to Warren who was laying on the ground his eyes frozen open with terror. I closed them with my bloody hand and looked around, not 6 feet away lay his dead wife, Hermione Jane Granger Peace. She had never been the kind to stay at home when there was danger... she was stupid that way.
I ran over to her, tears making path down my dirty and bloody face. I could hear the villains coming squeezed her hand then let go. My hand slipped around the beautiful locket around Hermione's neck and yanked it off.
I heard someone yelling, ordering someone to get Principle Powers and for another to get the new nurse...Claire I believe her name is.
I opened my tired eyes to see Emily Peace, Warren and Hermione's daughter. I held up the bloody locket. She started at it for a few seconds then gently took it form my and held it to her chest and cried, her hand rested on mine, but she scurried out of the way when Powers came.
Principle Powers kneeled before me and grabbed my hand and told me to hold on.
I started to lose feeling in my legs. I looked up at the teary eyed woman and said "Give…them…a good…home……please," I begged between painful gasps.
"Forgive me," I whispered, more to the world then anyone. I breathed my last breath and died. The villains had won; they had killed the heroes villains feared most.
I woke in soft green grass. I saw Hermione holding Warrens arm giving me a watery smile. Will helped me up. I looked around the grass meadows and knew… I was in heaven.
Tears slipped down Emily's face as she held my 4 month old daughter Dauphine in her arms. My 5 year old sat on her bed hugging her pillow saying "Mommy come home." My husband Harry Potter sat on his bed his head in his hands crying.
He looked down at my death certificate:
Name: Layla Williams Potter
