Not a Dream

Hands pressed upon the wall, the rain pours behind them.

It's a wet alleyway that they've run themselves into.

Pressed against her, his body seeks for the comfort of her warmth. Amber eyes staring at his own in confusion.

Valor had soared elsewhere, eager to seek his own share of shelter from the rain. It should have been a quick trip to gather supplies but the sky had tricked them into believing a clear day.

The harsh sound of droplets on pavement echoes in the little space around them. He could feel his clothes soaking up with rainwater.

Her bandaged hands pull him closer, surely noticing the wet patches on his back. He follows her tugging, eager to rid of the cold sensation.

Shivers down his spine, eliciting a surprised sound from her lips. A brown brow arches in silent question but she merely looks away with a faint dusting of rouge upon her cheeks.

He lets a soft sigh escape his lips, warm breath tickling her chilled skin. How long til the rain would let up? She cast a glance over his shoulder, studying the drab colors of Noxus around them.

How long 'til she would be home?

She's brought out of her stupor with the feel of his hands, circling around the small circumference of her waist. Warmth, she tells herself, he's only looking for warmth.

But it's her own body that betrays her, her own hands circling his much larger frame as he perched his chin on her shoulder.

It's much warmer this way.

She closes her eyes, silently wishing, silently hoping.

Let this not be a dream.

It was a little selfish, a little too close to home.

She gripped on to his clothes, replaying the softer contours of his face. No mark of assassin on his features; only Talon, a man from Noxus.

In that semblance of peace, they weren't clad in their wars, only man and woman in a conflicting world. Individuals linked by an emotion they fear to name, pressed together in the warmth of an embrace.

His lips pressed upon the junction of her neck, a small peck. Nothing malicious, no evil intent. A simple press of his lips as if in comfort.

She bit her lip in frustration, trying so hard to hold the emotions in check. It was during these times that she wondered why they weren't born civilians.
