NO MATTER

Regina Mills is a beautiful person.

And Robin Hood meant it when he told her that she is stunning in every way.

Her beauty is unrivalled but as they are seating in front of the fireplace, Robin cannot help but stroke her raven black hair.

He has caught a glimpse of her in the enchanted forest and knew that it used to be long and he cannot help but wonder why she cut it short.

"What's on your mind?" Regina whispered sweetly to him.

He smiled at her and held her closer to his side.

"I am just wondering why you cut your hair short… Or atleast shorter than it used to" he told her

She sighed

"Everything in this world is different Robin" she whispered as she is thrown back down memory lane.

Flashback

Regina is three and like any toddler likes to run around with her hair untied. She was running like a typical kid when suddenly her hair was pulled, prompting her stopped. It she saw Cora tugging it harshly.

"A girl of your status cannot run ragged. Get your hair fixed!" she scolded

..

Regina was nine and her daddy was a throwing a party for her.

But of course, instead of enjoying a celebration as a kid, she is forced into a dress too ostentatious for her to appreciate with a matching hairdo. But being nine was a hard time to be picture perfect so instead of sitting down for the dresser to fix her hair, she ran around making her chase. She almost succeeded in running away until Cora arrived and caught her hair and pulled her towards the dresser through it.

..

Regina loved her long black hair. Daniel did too which is why whenever they have time to sneak around and see each other she'd let it down. It was all fine until Cora found her disarrayed hair which she considered as a complete and utter violation of her non-existent Regina Shall Be Perfect Handbook. It was when Regina came to learn to hate it. Cora was so mad that she dragged Regina by the hair and cut quite a length of it while Regina was helpless against her. From then, Regina hated quite anything that has to do with her hair and the humiliation it cost her

During her reign as queen, Regina had a long hair for the sole reminder of the cruelty of the life and the universe that hated her. Cora made sure that she knew that since she was little. How stupid and naïve of her to resist it. To believe that somehow she is not born to be evil, but at this moment, she doubts it with everything she has…

Robin knew that the question bothered her, borderline to tears even.

SO he did the only thing that could provide comfort when words fail.

He pulled her closer and held her tighter against him and laid his against her.

"No matter how you make it out as, you're still the most beautiful person that I know, both inside and out" he whispered to her. "No matter what"

And that was enough to ease that baggage of her past.

And they laid like that for the rest of the night, revelling in one another's arms, and just this night, in this moment…

The entire world just disappeared
