Lumrosa: Well... I kinda stole the start of this story from the book (page 250) but I changed it a lot after that.
Rosaic: Muahahaha! -looks towards readers- Be prepared for 5-10 minutes of torment! Yes, -nods wisely- It's that bad.
Lumrosa: -glares- You didn't have to tell them!
Rosaic: -Rolls eyes-
Lumrosa: Ah well... This is a Two-Shot by the way...
Disclaimer: I do not own The Thief Lord (the book) I do not own anything in the book either. -Sighs-
Prosper wiped the tears from his face with his sleeve. He heard a motor boat coming down the canal so he sank down in the boat and waited for it to pass. But it didn't. The engine cut-out, and Prosper heard someone cursing under his breath. Then something bumped hard against Ida's boat. Prosper carefully poked his head out.
It was Scipio! He smiled with such happiness that Prosper forgot for a moment why he had tears in his eyes.
"Look who's here!" said the Thief Lord, "Well, if that's not a coincidence. I've come to pick you up!"
"Pick me up? And take me where?" Prosper scrambled to his feet. "Where did you get the boat?" It was beautiful, built of dark wood and decorated with gold ornaments.
"It's my father's," Scipio answered. He patted the boat as if it was a thoroughbred horse. "It's his pride and joy. I've borrowed it- and just now it got it's first scratch."
Prosper raised an eyebrow and was about to ask another question when Scipio cut him off.
"As for your other question," Scipio grinned, "You'll just have to wait to find out."
Prosper nodded and raised his hand to wipe off the tear tracks on his face. Scipio's eyes softened as he smiled sadly. He jumped off onto Ida's boat and held Prosper's raised arm. He pulled Prosper to closer.
"Prop, it'll be okay. Bo will be fine." Scipio said, hoping to comfort Prosper.
Prosper stood still, struggling to contain his emotions. He shook uncontrollably as he fought back the tears that threatened to spill. Unable to control it, he leant on Scipio and wept.
Scipio patted Prosper's back while whispering words of comfort in his ear.
Prosper detached himself from Scipio as his sobs lessened.
He smiled apologetically at Scipio.
Scipio grinned and shook his head.
"It's okay!" Scipio assured Prosper.
Scipio tugged Prosper's hand and urged him to follow. Prosper looked at Scipio, confused but followed Scipio to his boat anyway.
Scipio sat down and motioned Prosper to do the same. Which was what Prosper did.
Scipio took in a deep breath.
"Prosper, before I bring you to a place, there is something I want to tell you." Scipio started.
"Yes?" Prosper asked.
Scipio blushed as he said, "I...love you!"
Prosper's eyes widened.
"I-"
THE END
Lumrosa: Muahahahahaha!
Rosaic: Don't be so smug, bet nobody would want to read the next one given the quality of this one...
Lumrosa: You're so mean! -pouts-
