I do not own Harry Potter nor do I own any of the characters portrayed except Nadia. However I do own the plot line.

*******It's a Blaise and OC pairing. Hermione and Blaise friendship.*********

*Some of you may also have been wondering what Nadia looks like? Well in my head she looks like sort-of like my avatar picture but with dark brown hair.

Prologue

I scowled with indignation as my phone alarm rang. I hit the snooze button. I hated mornings, especially this morning. Today I had to deal with a bunch of obnoxious commons. The thought of it was exasperating. But it was after all my job. I ran both family companies, with a little help on the side from both my mother and father.

Both companies were signed over to me when I was 18; I'm now 19 and will be 20 in December. I attended pre-school, primary school, middle and high school; graduated when I was 16 and went on to university. I have a degree in architecture as well as an MBA in finance, I double majored in university and with a lot of memory charms and briberies from my father I was allowed to graduate three years early. I didn't need the grades, not really. The companies were destined to be mine, with or without them.

I was and still am a very hard worker, though my degrees came before time my grades were always top notch so I didnt feel guilty about it...well not too guilty. The company signed over to me from my mother was mostly to do with financial advice, stocks, and banking with some elements of intellectual property patenting and trade marking; we had two branches in England, three in the Caribbean, one in Hong Kong, one in Spain, and one in Guernsey. We gave services strictly to "muggles" as the commons say. Today would be the first time that we'd had any business with the commons. My ancestors would roll in their graves if they knew.

My mother's family was a different type of magical family. We were all taught magic by family members and never allowed to be taught by someone that was seen to have "mediocre magic", of course I don't think that way nor does anyone in my immediate family but it was something that was known in families like mine for eons. The more common witches and wizards who like to think of themselves as the noble house of this or the honorable house of that are very much in the dark of their beginnings. Families like mine were the first wizards and witches and we possess what the commons now call "old magic" though they know nothing about it. Old magic is more potent than common magic, seeing as we do not need wands, nor do we tire from using too much magic; we often times produce excess magic that we have to release into the universe- I know deep.

Some of us like myself, my mother, and great grandmother are even makers. Makers are those who do not need spells but we think of something or want something and it comes to being. It is very common in my family although my mother's twin sister did not inherit this trait. We can make magic or use spells.

The magic in our blood is very powerful, unlike the commons even if we marry off with a thousand "muggles" our children would still inherit our magic. Families like mine would rather marry a mugle than 'dirty' themselves with a common. This belief, however, is not one my family shares.

My mother and I share the same mindset seeing as my father is considered a halfblood common. I know common may sound odd to say, but was the only word used for their kind that was not used condescendingly; something akin to "muggle-borns" or "muggles"-Just a polite way of saying it.

I didn't have a problem with commons. Really. My older cousin slash best friend was a common, and I loved Hermione to death. Her husband, Draco, was a pretty nice guy and I loved her kids; Jenivive and Lukas. Hermione and I were technically half cousins; her father and my father were half-brothers. They shared the same father and my father's mother was a 'pureblood' common. So honestly it was just the stuck up ones like the people I had to deal with today that I really could not tolerate.

But on the bright side, today was a fairly slow day at my father's family business, it was normally very hectic. My father's business dealt with both wizard and muggle affairs. We planned and designed buildings. We built them with and without magic.

My alarm began to ring again. Had it been 10 minutes already? Well carpe diem.
