A/N: Just in case anybody was wondering I did not fall off the face of the Earth I just haven't gotten a chance to write in a very, very long time. However with my new found free time I'm looking forward to getting back to writing again. And, as always thanks for reading!

Three Things

There were three things she was absolutely certain of about him. And a bunch of unconfirmed things that she learned through office gossip but until those were confirmed she would stick to the big three. The first was that clearly a kindergarten teacher in some small Pennsylvania town had failed to teach how to play nicely in the sandbox. Although many admired his vast array of skills he drove just as many nuts with his inability to play nicely with others. To put it simply, he was a stubborn pain-in-the-ass. He caused incidents with the press, other agencies- especially the FBI, suspects, witness, co-workers, basically everybody. It wasn't that he's not a nice guy, because he definitely had his moments especially around children. It was more of a firm belief that he was always right because his gut was never wrong. And he would step on everybody to follow that infamous gut.

The second was that, despite his chronic inability to play nicely, he was good looking. Very good looking. From his salt and pepper hair to his piercing blue eyes there was not a single woman who did not lust after him. She had long ago lost track of how many woman tried to throw themselves at him during investigations. It was physically sickening. First it would start with an innocent smile and an introduction. Then it would lead to a bat of the eyelashes or a subtle hand placed on his arm. And finally the flirting would begin.

Truthfully she felt bad for them, because first of all, none of them had a chance with him. Rumor had it he only dated redheads and none of them were ever redheads. However she was….but that was beside the point. Secondly, they were embarrassing themselves. It would be one thing if any of these women knew how to be subtle but clearly none of them did. Instead they basically made fools of themselves while drooling over a man who would never want them. And finally he was going to be hers, which leads to the third thing.

Despite the fact he was her boss, despite the fact she was his probie, and despite the age difference she had fallen for him. Hard. Somewhere between the long hours and harsh lessons she had fallen heads over heels for this guy she knew little to nothing about. Friends told her this could not end well, but she would hear nothing of it. As her father always said, "Where there's a will, there's a way." And she was not going to give up, because Jenny Shepard always got what she wanted.
