Somewhere in the middle of my first-ever quest in Runescape, I must have met a wizard who gave me a talisman and I, in turn, must have inadvertently agreed to complete his quest. Unbeknownst to me in my early gaming 1st life, I also lost the talisman given to me by the head wizard and forgot all about the quest. Funny to me now, is how far off track I must have been in my first quest of Cook's Assistant, to ever have met this wizard in the first place, who lives in the basement of a remote castle not really close to Lumbridge Castle at all. But quests don't lie, I started this one and now I am back on track hoping the wizard doesn't think me rude for taking so long.

The quest was rather simple, here is what I did… first, I listened carefully to the head wizard, then I listened to him again to be sure I had it straight and one more time for good measure, before heading out to find Auberly in the village of Varrock in the Rune Shop. To him, I needed to give the air talisman. Oh wait! I've lost the air talisman. What did the wizard say? Oh, yes, I may get a new one from the Duke in Lumbridge Castle. So without a moment's hesitation off I went, back to the castle. I felt kind of funny, barging into the duke's bedroom and all, but he was very gracious and welcomed me to his castle. He quickly offered me the new talisman, I felt badly as I had to drop raw meat on his floor, but he didn't mind that either. So, now I had the air talisman back in my hand I needed to find Auberly in Varrock, which I remember, because I listened so carefully.

Me, being the expert that I am, simply plugged in my coordinates on the master map, waited for my blue arrow to appear and was off, super speedy-like back out of the castle, headed masterfully to the Village of Varrock. I wove my way through town and passed the pub without even a sip, so determined was I to not keep the wizard waiting any longer.

I could see my blue arrow pulsing toward a shop from which I could hear foreign voices. It was not labeled Rune Shop as directed by the wizard, so it was a good thing I have a large vocabulary and was able to substitute Magic Shop and still find my way. Again, it seemed rude to barge right in on their foreign conversation, but the owner was happy to see me. He could not believe that I had the magical talisman for him and he instructed me to return his research papers to the wizard ASAP. He offered me a magical teleport to the wizard, which I debated, because I really planned to stop for a beer at the pub, but my curiosity got the best of me, so I agreed. Next thing I knew I was vaporized into a lovely shade of lavender and appeared back on the bridge to the wizard's castle. Nice. I now feel honored to be privy to special teleportation powers. I expertly opened doors and climbed down stairs to hand him the wizard his package.

The wizard has graciously allowed me to keep the air talisman and really gave quite a speech about how I opened doors to the mysteries of ancient civilizations' lost runes and that I must now seek out an air altar on which to bestow my air talisman which will unfold marvelous new adventures for me. Truth be told, I wasn't listening as carefully this time, so I will probably be back for a visit, but unfortunately, that quest and the beer, must wait for another day.
