Geonosis, 0 ABG
My squad and I are flying over the plains of Geonosis in a gunship. I look down and watch as the troopers whiz by as the gunship strains to go fast. We take a turn down a secondary canyon toward our objective. We hear an explosion and are thrown to the floor of the gunship as it spirals out of control and crashes. "Shab," my squad leader, Lead, says, picking himself up, "We got an Assault droid on the cliffside." There's the crack of a sniper rifle shot, and Scopes, our sniper, answers, "Not anymore." "Pilots are dead, Beta One," Our hacker, Techs, says, leaping off the cockpit, "What are your orders?" Lead orients himself towards the objective. "We're walking the rest of the way, Beta," he orders, "Get moving." "I think that's the first gunship that's crashed with us in it that's not our fault." "Wires, all the times we crashed in training were your fault," Techs points out. "Like I said, it's the-" "Quiet! Droid patrol!" Scopes hisses. "Scopes, it's not like they can hear us through the helmets." Scopes gives me an eloquent gesture of disapproval, while Techs fixes the droids in our way with plasma. Lead gestures for us to move forward. "Scopes, point. Wires, watch our six." I drop to the back. After about three minutes of walking in eerie silence, I hear a sniper shot. I whirl around to see Techs fall to the ground. Scopes kneels and snipes the sniper. Lead and I duck behind rocks to get some cover. Another shot rings out, and Scopes biometric signs drop. And so does he. Then hoards of droids pour out towards Lead's position, and I start to get up to go help him, but he orders me to go back. Find some allies. "I'll hold them off! GO! Get help!" I hesitate, and then turn and sprint towards the crashed gunship. I hear blasterfire. And then a scream. I can't help but look at Lead's vitals. He's dead. I'm alone.
