Disclaimer: I don't own Fire Emblem
Morgan sighed as she leaned back. As a fierce gust of wind tugged her bangs up, she looked at the round moon shining in the sky. The stars twinkled brightly against the pitch black, reminding her of just how tiny and insignificant she was in such a large world.
"Mother would like a scene like this very much. After all, she's very whimsical," she murmured to herself.
"Hey," she heard her father say from behind her.
She turned around. "Father! Care to sit?"
He smiled and took a seat beside her. "Nice sky. Your mother would love this."
"Tell me how you and Mother met."
He frowned slightly, the brooding greyness in his eyes sharpening. "It's not a story you need to hear. I'll just say it's not a subject I want to broach."
She lowered her head, her eyes sad. "Didn't you get her a necklace?"
He ruffled her ruby red hair. "Yes. Once upon a time I did. I got it for her the same day she proposed to me."
"Mother proposed to you?" Morgan asked. "I thought men were supposed to propose to women."
Sometimes it can be the other way around," Robin replied. He ruffled her hair.
Morgan laughed and swatted at his hand. "Stop that!" She looked at him with a soft smile. "Can I go visit her?"
He smiled back at her. "Of course. Just give me a few minutes." He stood up in the field and started picking spider lilies. The bright red petals seemed illuminated in the contradicting, navy blue night. Once he had a fairly large bunch of them, he handed them to Morgan. "There. They match your hair. How about you take these to your mother? She'll love them."
Morgan smiled and gripped the bunch tightly, running off excitedly. As she cleared her way through the fog, she skirted around the palace. The Ylissean royal castle was quite a large building, so it took a minute of two to find the back. As she strode through the back archway, her smile turned almost crooked. It seemed almost broken.
As she made her way leisurely through the gravestones, she finally stopped at a lone headstone. "Anna," it read. She knelt down and placed the flowers in front. Her boots made a soft squeaking sound on the dewy grass.
"Hi, Mother," she said. "How was your day? Did you make any good sales? I found a really pretty butterfly. And Laurent said I looked especially pretty today." She broke off as she saw Lucina crouched down near a grave down to the right. "Hey, Lucina. How's Sumia doing?"
Lucina looked over at Morgan and smiled. "She's doing fine. She just told me that she made a cherry pie and ate it all by herself."
Morgan smiled. "That's good. Mother just told me that she got a 20% increase in sales today."
As the two stood in silence to listen the graves, they could distinctly hear the mutterings of all the other future children as they talked to their own mothers. Morgan even nodded a little at Nah when she stood right to her left to talk to Nowi.
Morgan sighed. "Anyway, I don't want to interfere with sales. Love you, Mother."
The silent gravestone gave no audible reply, yet Morgan nodded in agreement. All around the graveyard, calls of "Love you, Mother," were heard.
There was not a single reply.
Fin
That was pretty strange. First, I intended this to be a heartwarming fic, but I couldn't see it without making it an AU and I'm trying to get back into the canon universe. So, then I did my thing and made everyone crazy and/or dead. Shout out to OrangeDevil for the request! Anyway, hope y'all enjoyed~
