She was in the girl's abandoned bathroom. She had been strong for so long. She put up a brave front, someone had to keep a level head in her group, she had to be alert and Harry, her best friend, needed her at this time. But she couldn't be strong all the time, she too was petrified of the war and some of the foul, loathsome and evil little cockroaches that attended Hogwarts weren't making it any easier. No, she needed a break from being tough. So there she stood, leant over a sink, gripping the basin so hard her fingers were turning white, eyes streaming with her head down and her bushy hair in even more disorder than usual.
Taking in a shuddery breath to try and calm herself down, she heard footsteps coming to a stop near the door.
Draco Malfoy was wandering the corridors, hands in the pockets of his robes and feeling rather frustrated. His father just wouldn't listen to him, ignoring his letters and then sending a rather snappy letter telling him to stop bothering him and do something useful. All he ever did was try to impress the man, but no, he was never good enough, grades not high enough, behaviour atrocious, he couldn't do anything right. His hand clenched at the thought, he was nothing more than a disappointment. He grinded his teeth as he was passing the girls abandoned bathroom, but stopped when he heard someone crying. 'Perfect timing' he thought, he needed someone to take his anger out on. Going back to the bathroom he entered with his trademark swagger and his smirk plastered on his face, which only got bigger when he saw who it was.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't Granger." He spoke with his taunting drawl as he manoeuvred over near her.
She tensed when she recognised the voice, 'Great, just great. Just the person I needed and wanted to find me like this!' Wiping her eyes on the back of her hands she spun around to face him, finding him only a couple of feet away. "What do you want Malfoy?" She sneered.
His smirk just widened if possible, "Ooo, you're a bit spunky for someone who is crying their eyes out."
She just sniffled and rolled her eyes muttering "shove off Malfoy, I can't be bothered with you today, why don't you go entertain Parkinson? That'll keep you occupied and it's probably the only female attention you'll be getting so treasure it." She didn't know what had gotten into her; all of her anger, frustration and stress just started firing off her onto Draco.
He narrowed his eyes and stepped forward. "Watch your mouth mudblood! Learn to speak with respect when talking to someone of a higher calibre!"
She scoffed and rolled her eyes, she was fed up with Malfoy and his self importance, "Oh please! You think you're so special! Well you're not! What are you going to do? Run and tell daddy?" She let out stepping towards him.
"You better watch your mouth Granger!"
With each comment the two came closer and closer until their noses were almost touching. They glared at each other, huffing and panting in anger, until something inside them snapped. The both raised their hand grabbed each other by the waist or head and their lips met in intense and aggressive passion.
