Disclaimer: I do not own the very wonderful VicJORIous, but I DO own this story idea.

;;/;; Jade's POV ;;\\;;

"Jade!" A voice yelled across the room. I froze. A million thoughts ran through my head, the most prominent being: Had she found out? I spun around slowly, putting on my poker face, and in my most sickly sweet voice that I could come up with, said:

"Yes, Victoria?" I snickered at the look that crossed her face, because now surely I could bug her before running. Or maybe bug her enough to where she forgot what she was going to say. That works, too.

"I. Don't. Talk like that!" Tori shouted. Her beautiful chocolate brown eyes furious. Wait- beautiful? Well... she did look prettier when she was mad. Wait, no, bad Jade, bad! Focus.

My teasing mood went away in seconds at my inner arguing. "What do you want then, Tori?"

"I want you, to explain this!" The brunette yelled again, shoving a ruined textbook into my face.

"That... is a textbook." I calmly explained. "A ruined one, by the look of it."

She glared at me for all she was worth. I had to admit, her being angry was pretty impressive. "I understand that." She said. "What I don't understand is why it's ruined, and why you did it!" Her voice had slowly risen through the sentence.

"I was bored." I stated.

"Obviously." She snarled. "You're paying for this."

"What- why?" I demanded. By now a small crowd had formed loosely around us, watching.

"Because you're the one who ruined it!" Her exasperation was breaking through. I was taking this way too calmly in her book. Get it? Her book? It's a pun- ah, never mind. My mental thoughts were broken by her taking my hand, which caused an explosion of butterflies in my stomach, and her yanking me towards Lane's office. Did I imagine the blush I saw before she turned around? Probably.

"Vega." I said. Thankfully, my nervousness about her hand being in mine didn't show through my voice.

She turned around, looking at me questioningly, but still with a fair amount of anger in her eyes.

"It wasn't your book. I needed something to do, because-" Because my thoughts got out of control. So had my emotions. Thinking about Tori Vega wasn't good for my morale. It's why I broke up with Beck. Also why he was avoiding me. He knew, but he promised not to tell.

"Because?" She questioned patiently, now that she wasn't freaking out over a school book.

"Because I was bored." I sighed, hating myself for not being able to say anything about the feelings that so dominantly controlled my life right now. How hard could it be? Very hard, I contradicted myself, if the person you had feelings for was a very beautiful, unattainably straight, girl.

"Fine. I'm sorry. I guess." She dropped my hand, and I immediately missed the warmth of it. She also dropped the mangled book into the nearest trash can- which I had to chuckle at. If it wasn't her book, she didn't care.

;;/;; Tori's POV ;;\\;;

I dropped the useless book into the trash, hearing Jade's chuckle behind me. I hope I only imagined the blush that spread across my face after I had grabbed Jade's hand. It was an unconscious motion, almost, because I knew she wouldn't follow me if I only told her to. But I still blushed when I realized I had done it. "Well- well, see you later." I said, still with my back turned to Jade. So I was surprised when I heard her voice in my ear.

"Is that a promise?" The proximity of her whisper suggested she was only centimeters from my body. My breath hitched, and my heart started pounding.

"I- I- I- Bye!" I finally managed to get out, darting down the hallway with Jade's laughter following me. I wasn't paying attention, so when I ran into a warm, firm body, I fell back and hit my head hard on the tile.

"Owwwww..." I complained. I heard footsteps pounding down the hall as the person who I had run into helped me up. I finally saw, it was Beck.

"Beck." I said, immediately coming to my senses, even though there was a headache pounding around in my skull. He was the only one who knew I was in love with his ex.

"Tori." He said curtly. "You okay?" He may have asked, but there was a certian amount of undisguised hatred in his voice that told me he didn't care.

He was echoed by Jade's: "You okay, Vega?" There was a huge difference in their voices. Jade actually sounded like she cared.

This made me even more confused. Since when does Jade West care about me? "I- yeah, I'm fine." Her amazing emerald green eyes ran over my body as if to assure I wasn't lying.

"C'mon." Jade said, grabbing my arm and taking me from Beck. "You're going to the nurse." Her immediate concern, followed by what I saw of Beck's glare when she grabbed my arm, made me think something was up. But who was I to complain if Jade West was touching me- and going to take me to the nurses' office?

"Thank you." I murmured. There was nothing else to say as we made our way to the nurses' office.

The nurse looked up as we came in, and Jade explained. Even as the Goth was talking, the nurse was taking me by the arm, sitting me down, and by the time Jade was done talking, the nurse was checking my eyes to make sure I didn't have a concussion.

She tsked. "No concussion, but you'll want to lay down and rest for the rest of the day. Do you drive?" She questioned.

"No- I get a ride from my sister." I responded.

"Well, good. We don't need you driving. Should I call her, or-"

"No." Jade spoke up again. "I'll take her home." I stared up at this mysterious girl, surprised. The girl that was mocking me only minutes ago was replaced by this new, caring one. But what happened to her?

The nurse looked uncertainly at her, possibly knowing our history, or possibly seeing the look of surprise on my face. Then she turned to me. "Is that okay?" She asked.

The simple question ran through my mind. Of course it was okay- but should I accept? "Jade... what about your classes?" I asked. I mean, considering we were in our second class now and had two more classes to go before the day was done... I couldn't ask her to miss something.

She responded by shrugging. I nodded- though it sent spikes of pain through my head. "Yeah. It's okay."

The nurse looked thrilled, maybe because I was leaving- or maybe because Jade was leaving with me. "Well, wonderful! Let me just write you two a note, and, well, you can go home." The nurse went to her desk to write out the notes. I looked at Jade. She looked at me. We both shrugged, seeming to agree that the nurse was a nut. "Well, here we are!" She exclaimed, giving us both a separate note. "Off you go!"

She left without another word. Jade and I looked at each other oddly. The nurse was... really weird. Though, she did work at Hollywood Arts. So they had to give her credit for something, right?

"Uh.." Jade said. "Shall we go?"

"Sure." I responded. Jade took my arm, which was another thing I found odd but didn't protest to, and led me out of the nurses office and out of the school. Luckily, or not, the bell hadn't rang for anyone to be out of class. So no one saw Jade take a stumbling Tori out of the building and into Jade's car. Except, for Beck. Who had gone to look for Jade.
