Hey y'all, I've been working on a new Code Geass story, actually I going back to finish one that I started to write eight months ago. And in the mist of editing that story, I'd thought I'd post this little drabble. It takes place sometime during in season one. Enjoy!

Being Hopeless.

Lelouch sat on the couch erect. His chin rested on his chest, his arms crossed and his eyes closed as he slept peacefully. I crept into his room silently as not to disturb the slumbering boy. Though I had been told that Lelouch was a heavy sleeper, I still did my best to move quietly, in case I was misinformed. Quickly, I opened the wardrobe drawers, searching for anything that would help in my investigation. I know there had to be something here, something...

"Can I help you find something?" A cool voice asked from behind me.

I jumped and quickly turned around "Ah, no. Looks like I've been caught." I admitted with a lopsided grin.

"What where you looking for, Suzaku?"

"Nothing in particular," I replied, closing the desk drawer.

"Oh really," he asked, sarcastically. He approached me and looked me straight in the eyes. "So you're not here under orders to search my room?"

"No," I swallowed and tried not to blink.

"Uh huh," he replied, not believing me. He walked back to the couch and crouched down in front on it and pulled out a small brightly colored box with a big red ribbon of the top.

"So Milly's birthday gift wasn't what you were looking for?" He said with a smirk. Lelouch turned his face to the side for a few seconds and I took the opportunity to grab the gift and head for the door.

"Thank you." I called back as I ran down to the door.

I was heading down the hallway when I heard a sound that made me smile. It was the sound of Lelouch laughing. "You're hopeless."
