Zak's hands are gentle and brash against her skin in the sunlight. His lips ghost over her face, her breast, her thigh.

Kara arches into his slow movements and lets her breathing match their rhythm. She pulls his head up and lets herself melt into his kiss, keeps her eyes open and focused on him. Zak smiles and kisses the rough pad of her thumb. There are tears in his eyes.

"Apollo" she moans through clenched teeth against the strength of his shoulder.

When she wakes there are tears in her throat. She chokes back a sob in the darkness.

Kara is winning. Not just winning, but kicking Baltar's, and everyone else's, ass.

She flips her cards onto the table and watches as Baltar's ego deflates just a little bit more. She adds her new winnings to her pile and leans back against her chair with a grin. Lee and the others shout their approval.

Lee wraps his arm around her shoulders and she's not sure whether she wants to shrug off his touch or sink into its warmth.

When he shifts away from her she pulls in a shaky breath. She shudders at the cold air on her neck.

Lee's breath tastes like space, like ashes. It burns like fire against Kara's tongue.

Lee's fingers are hard and fast on her body as he moves above her. His touch sparks against her skin and it's all Kara can do not to cry out. She can't see him in the darkness, can't hear him in the silence, so she focuses on the push and pull between their bodies. On the feel of him.

Lee kisses her again and Kara can't breathe.

When she wakes her face is buried in her pillow. She bites into the fabric and lets herself cry.

Kara feels like showing off as she leads the Nuggets back toward home. She pulls back and spins. Turns and levels off face-to-face with the CAP.

"Nice flying Starbuck." Lee's voice curves around her name over the wireless and Kara can tell that he's smiling that smile of his. The one that has the nasty habit of setting things on fire.

A trail of cold sweat snakes between her shoulder blades.

When her Viper scrapes against the deck she's ready and waiting to jump out and bolt for her bunk, the head, anywhere that's not here. Anywhere where he's not.

Cat's eyes are on her. Kara doesn't need to look into the mirror to know this. She can feel her gaze slip-sliding down her spine, over the curve of her hip.

The head is near empty and she's a bit restless, so Kara takes a chance. She leans down and spits her toothpaste into the basin. Looks into the mirror and winks at Cat. Kara twists up and moves in, pushing Cat back into an empty stall.

Cat's lips are hot and inviting, her fingers cold beneath Kara's jumpsuit.

When Kara comes Cat's mouth is on hers. She stays silent.
