It was sunset, and Magnus was having a lone picnic on the beach. He munched on his sandwich, listening to the relaxing sound of waves lapping the beach.

He actually felt normal, for once. He could forget all that nonsense about magic, if only for a few moments. His father recently tried to convince him that there was such thing as Norse gods, which only gave proof of his madness.

A new sound came to him, as he sat-was that singing? Intrigued, Magnus focused on the sound. Yes, that was definitely singing-a youngish boy, by the sound of it. Magnus looked around the beach for the source of the sound. No one was there. The beach was deserted. Then where was the sound coming from?

Forgetting the source of the sound for a moment, he tried to identify the song. The voice was faint, apparently coming from a distance, but Magnus could just make out the words:

You are my sunshine,

My only sunshine.

You make me happy...

He really was a good singer. And there was some sort of music accompanying his voice-an instrument he couldn't identify. It almost seemed to be a combination of the most beautiful instruments that ever existed. Probably recorded and computer-edited. But where was the boy, and who was he singing to?

Magnus looked out over the ocean again. A dark silhouette blocked out a part of the amber-colored sky-was that a dragon? But no, dragons weren't real. Of course it wasn't a dragon. A second glance quickly revealed that it was a hot air ballon. How could he have mistaken that for a dragon? His eyes had to b playing tricks on him.

A couple stood in the basket. The boy appeared to have curly hair, and he was in fact playing an instrument. With only a silhouette to go by, Magnus couldn't quite tell what instrument it was. The girl was obviously beautiful-she had a slender waist, and long, flowing hair.

Magnus reflected that they must be a very happy couple. Perhaps they were the type of couple who would wait a thousand years just to be together. Fate truly was kind to them, by the looks of it.
