Her lips twitched, his stubbled cheek tickled the bare skin covering her ribs. His breath was like burning electricity as as it whispered across her stomach.
The pads of his fingers were roughened from years of archery and living in the forest but yet still managed to glide across her skin so softly, so reverently, as if she was precious.
"I told Rowland we would visit the ducks today," Robin's voice huskily whispered into her side. Damn, he always knew when she was awake. He was planting sweet kisses along the curve of her breast.
"So my dear, you will need to open your eyes." Regina shook her head, a small smile gracing her lips as his kisses reached her shoulder.
"Come on Regina, you must awaken with the day." His voice sounded so upbeat and she was sure she could feel him grinning into her skin.
He kissed the hollow of her throat and Regina gasped, she knew Robin would now be smirking. He loved to make her feel out of control when they were alone, like he could conquer the queen. She mentally rolled her eyes, he was such a man.
She moaned as he kissed her neck.
"Oh well, I guess I must face the dawn on my own." Robin stated laughingly, springing from the bed they shared.
Regina laughed, quickly pulling herself into a sitting position, reaching for Robin,
"Wait..." Cold air brushed her skin and her eyes snapped open. Gone were the burning candles and Robin's clothes draped over a chair at the end of the bed.
Reality set in, Robin was gone. Gone forever.
A tear leaked down her cheek as she pulled the doona to her chest, staring blankly into the dark room.
