"Let It Burn"
"I watch the city burn
These dreams like ashes float away
Your voice I never heard
Only silence"
Castiel sat in the murky lake. He watched as the last bit of his grace died out. He wanted it to be a dream. Not real. He wanted dean to come and wake him up from this night mare. He knew that would never happen. He practically killed Sam and betrayed Dean. He didn't miss the hurt in his friends eyes through the anger. He replayed the moment when dean found out about the deal with crowley.
Where were you when our hearts were bleeding
Where were you when it all crashed down
Never thought that you'd deceive me
Where are you now
"It sounds so simple when you say it like that. Where were you when I needed to hear it?"
"I was there. Where were you?"
He knew Dean was right. He knew he shouldve asked Dean for help before. But he had been through so much. His problems seemed so small compared to deans. The righteous man. The man he saved from perdition. He shouldnt of wasted his time with the demon.
How long can you stand the pain
How long will you hide your face
How long will you be afraid
Are you afraid
How long will you play this game
Will you fight or will you walk away
How long will you let it burn
Let it burn
Let it burn
All he could do now was watch. Through eyes that were no longer his. The hurtful words that came out of his mouth we not of his choosing. He was forced to watch as Dean broke. Sam was long gone. Past the point of no return. He wished he hadn't let his scheme for power hurt Dean. The one he was supposed to protect.
I watch the city burn
These passions slowly smoldering
A lesson never learned
Only violence
Is your world just a broken promise
Is your love just a drop of rain
Will we all just burn our fire
Are you still there
He shouldve stopped his vendetta against Raphael. But he didn't. He was so full of Mission. Of duty. He sees now that was pride. He shouldve known his plan would fail. All his plans did. He couldn't find his Dad. He couldn't create peace among the other angels. He never wanted this. Was it so hard to ask for a little free will? To Angels maybe. They were Gods perfect creations with one flaw. They had no choice. No way to do what they want.
How long can you stand the pain
How long will you hide your face
How long will you be afraid
Are you afraid
How long will you play this game
Will you fight or will you walk away
How long will you let it burn
Let it burn
Let it burn
He should've helped. He shouldn't be scared to fight again. But he didn't do conflict any more. It only led to trouble. And he didn't need any more of that. He watches the bees now.
Will you wait until it all burns down
Will you hide until it all burns down
Will it hurt when it all burns down
Will you fight when it all burns dow
Will you stand when it all burns down
Will you love when it all burns down
Will it end when it all burns down
Will you just let it all burns down
How long can you stand the pain
How long will you hide your face
How long will you be afraid
Are you afraid
How long will you play this game
Will you fight or will you walk away
How long will you let it burn
Let it burn
Let it burn
Let it burn
Let it burn
Let it burn
For now he will watch. Let it burn. His world. Burns to the ground. Powerless to stop it. He lit the spark that blew up the world.
