Disclaimer: I just want to play with them! Please mommy? I'll put them back, I promise...
A/N: Smilies, you've inspired me. Here, a fic just for you. It's a sequel-of-sorts for Couplet Contemplation.
Couplet Couples

Isadora smiled. "I helped them," she whispered. Happily, she walked to the other side of the balloon and put her hands in her pockets. She paled instantly.
"Isadora, what's the matter," Duncan asked, "You look sickly."
"I – I think I dropped something I didn't intend to drop."
"What are you talking about?"
Isadora blushed. "Duncan, I need to know I can trust you."
"You know you can trust me, Isadora."
"Well, I believe I dropped a special couplet."
"Isadora! All of your couplets are special! You need to be more specific."
"I – I dropped a couplet with special value to me."
"I'm sorry, but I can't get it back. I'd try, but I'm sure I wouldn't succeed."
"No, Duncan," Isadora sighed, "There's nothing you can do. I'll just have to live with the embarrassment if we ever encounter the Baudelaire orphans again."
"Wait – Isadora, was that the couplet you've been carrying around?" Isadora nodded sadly. "That was accidental. I threw it over on purpose!"
"Duncan," she cried, "how could you?"
"Well, I thought you needed a little help. It's noticeably obvious that you're in love with Klaus."
"Wait – not only did you drop my couplet, but you read it?"
Duncan grinned widely as Isadora narrowed her eyes.
"Well," she said, laughing, "then you won't mind that I dropped that article you wrote about Violet."
Duncan stopped smiling.
