The Twisted Prince

The boy believed in beauty and love

This trait a gift from his mother

Silk threads that flowed like royal blood

His golden eyes like no other

Days were spent with sword and fire

Nights were spent in mother's arms

Royal with riches but far from spoiled

In a life of leisure and charms

But war had spilled across the lands

A war his fathers burned in stone

The boy's father a prince himself

Was never meant for the lord's throne

The youngest spoke against tradition

That the older son had a right to rule

The great lord angered at this betrayal

How could a young brother be so cruel?

"Your brother has lost his son in war

Something you fail to understand

Unless you learn of his pain and suffering

You must kill your son by your hand"

"The day I see you cruel but whole

Will I be able to deem your worth

Of claiming lordship over this land

And burning our rule on earth"

And thus his majesty found his chance

For his son he never cared

But his wife pleaded another way

In hopes her son be spared

His mother was banished for evil deeds

He unknowing of her treasonous plays

The boy earned the title of "prince"

And so he led the rest of his days

The princess was said to be born with luck

His majesty was lucky to be born

His father saw sister as a cherished prize

And all he received was scorn

Our prince received no fatherly love

Only disappointment and distain

He tried hard for father's approval

But the lord was simply mundane

The only man right by our prince

The brother who himself was betrayed

Saw our prince with hope but loss

During the new lords crusade

The prince's uncle was the true father

The prince had sat at his side

Though a fateful night of war and plan

Would be the day his worlds divide

His father had declared a battle plan

His soldiers have no means or reason

But to pay a sacrifice to his war

The plan not far from treason

So the prince stood against this murder

He stood up and spoke aloud

Against this sacrifice by his brutal father

His voice snapped a thunder cloud

"Our blood should not be sacrificed

They fight for our people and land"

He blasphemed his father's ruling

And was punished by his hand

"Come home when you gain a valuable prize

When you bring an enemy before me

Only then could your honor be restored

Finding the avatar is your new destiny"

Our prince now resides on a metal ship

Outside of this broken war

His own inner battle has been declared

Now banished like his mother before

The avatar master of the four elements

Has long been known as dead

And the only being that could stop this threat

And stop the pain and bloodshed

This mission was an unreachable goal

A fact his father knew

But the prince's honor blinded his reason

And so he began to pursue

There was no other answer to his redemption

His honor must be reclaimed

And if this savior was never found

He only had himself blame

A scar marked his marble face

A symbol of the banished prince

A symbol etched by his very father

And will remain forever since

No pain, no suffering could stop his pursuit

For years he scoured the earth

With a dream of returning to his home

And to be granted his right of birth

But the avatar was missing for one hundred years

Like a journey sailing to the sun

He grew to be twisted with broken roots

Knots were damaged and undone

He earned the name "the twisted prince"

With a goal hopeless and failed

But he searched the corner of every land

Wind constantly in his sail

He is our banished fire prince

A burnt and broken tree

Scouring the earth with a brooding look

Searching forever across the sea
