"What is this?" Maxon asked laughing at what was in front of him on his plate.
"It's a sandwich! You've had to have had a sandwich before!"
"Well yeah, but this is not a sandwich. Sandwiches have like, lettuce and vegetables and three kinds of meat on them."
"Just try it. I promise it's good." I watched as Maxon slowly lifted up the bread to see what was inside.
"What is this?" He asked again, "It's brown. Brown. And, purple? Is that purple? Where did you even find these things America?" I could barely understand what he was saying through his laughter.
"Oh come on, I promise it's good. I used to have this for lunch every day when I was a kid." I can't help but smile at how completely confused he is. Does he really think that I'd try to poison him when the selection is finally over?
"Okay…." Maxon picks it up and looks it over a few more times before he finally takes a bite. "Oh my god! This is delicious! What is it?"
"Someone's not being very royal," I said laughing at him as he tried to talk and eat at the same time. "What would your mother say?" He just gives me a look of amused annoyance and finishes his sandwich in two bites.
"Okay. You were right. That was fantastic. I should have trusted you. Just one question… What was that?"
I couldn't help the huge grin that spread across my face as I answered, "A peanut butter and jelly sandwich."
