"You forgot about me,"She states, her voice cold and monotone. Her knives glint dimly in the light, her posture attack-ready. Her pale eyes remain transfixed upon him, staring deep into his eyes, though he manages to remain expressionless, like her china-doll like face. When he attempts to break eye contact and remains uneasily silent, she continues."You left without a good bye, Zuko,"Mai adds, her voice even without the slightest of wavers. A wounded look appears on Zuko's face , but it vanishes quickly, before his expression becomes emotionless like hers.
"I had no choice,"He replies swiftly, managing to make eye contact with the porcelain doll. "They exiled me after Angi Kai, and I was forced to leave without good byes, " It was a lie, he had been too ashamed to even speak to anyone after the fire duel, he had left imidiently. She would know nothing of this though, he would make sure of it. Mai's dark angled brow rose slightly, before lowering once more, hidden beneath the black fringe.
"You lie,"Mai answers, not even shivering in the intense cold of the artic. Azula and the rest of them had chased him to here, before seperating. It was her of course who found him. She didn't lower her weapons, but points them directly at him, threatening. He knew she would not attack him, she cares too much to do so. Atleast that's what he hopes.
"I had nothing left in the Fire Nation,"The banished Prince retorts bitterly, looking down into the snow. It seems like it's starting to become a blizzard, the snow is thrashing about wildly, yet she remains as if she is unaffected by it all, like she is nothing but an empty shell of a once living person. He wonders if that's his fault.
"You say you had nothing. Was I nothing to you Zuko?"She asks him, her voice remaining a deadly calm. Her mask gives her the illusion that she is undisturbed by this information, but under her facade he knows he has just broke her heart into millions of peices, and she is broken beyond repair.
A/N : Okay, people. I needed to get all this angst out, and this is the result. I'm now obsessed with the Maiko couple, as you can see. Two oneshots in one night. OCD, I tell you. Anyways, this particular oneshot sounds like it could be something more, so you guys review and tell me if I should continue. : I'm pretty proud with this oneshot, my favorite part is the last two sentences of the fourth paragraph. I'm thinking Zuko was the cause of Emo!Mai, but that's just my idea. She seemed really happy and sweet when she was younger, so I think this works out. Anyway, I'm done rambiling. REVIEW!
