Summary: Hanschen's been waiting for this for ages, but Ernst gets nervous at the last moment. Very short oneshot. Warning: copious amounts of fluff. Really.
Disclaimer: Not mine. Not the characters or the musical lyrics and stuff, none of it.
"Hanschen?" His voice was halting, hesitant.
"Yes, Ernst?"
"I… I don't think I can do this." The words spilled out in a rush.
"What!?" Hanschen struggled to lower his voice. "Why not?"
"I just… I don't feel comfortable." Ernst whined, apologetic.
"Ernst, but I've waited so long for this- God, so long…"
"I know, but I… it just doesn't feel right, you know?"
Hanschen let out a sigh. "Ernst?"
"Y-yes?"
"Please."
"But-"
"For me?"
"… Fine."
Ernst stepped out from behind the closet door, a pair of his older sister's sparkly clip-on earrings dangling from each ear, one of her dresses hanging off his shoulders. The dark shade of green looked lovely against his skin, and contrasted well against his dark hair. Ernst fidgeted, his eyes set on the ground, shifting his feet, his scrawny legs bare under the pleated, ankle-length skirt. When Hanschen didn't say anything, he took it as a confirmation of the worst.
"See? I told you it wouldn't look nice, I'll just take it off. It was a bad idea, we'll just pretend it never-"
"Beautiful."
Ernst looked up sharply, frowning and puzzled. "But I thought only girls w-"
"Beautiful." Hanschen repeated, sweeping Ernst up in his arms. The younger boy looked even more delicate in the feminine garment.
"Really?" Ernst asked softly, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. He looked coy, with his downcast eyes and the blush coloring his cheeks.
"Yes." And then Hanschen's lips were on his, putting any more doubts or insecurities completely out of his mind.
Rather silly, ridiculous, and outrageously fluffy, I know (not to mention Hanschen's extreme OOC sweetness). This was written late at night/early one morning, and I thought it was so cute and wonderful, but the next morning I had my doubts. Still, my sister read it and "aww!"-ed over it, encouraging me to post it. So blame her.
