Disclaimer: Guess what? If I owned Maple Story, mages would be all powerful throughout the entire game. Sadly, they get like…seriously gimped, which is just messed up. Anyways, now...for the story.

The crossbowman hastily gulped up his last white potion as he jumped off the rope to avoid the sharp teeth of a fire boar. He landed on the sandy ground and quickly grabbed two arrows from his back. Suddenly, a bomb pierced through the air and exploded, blowing up clouds of dust. In the confusion, the fire boar started running around and jumped off the edge of the path, where it slammed into a small oasis of water, conveniently shaded by a palm tree.

"Are you okay?" a high pitched voice had called as it was cautiously running towards the archer. A huntress had appeared from the dust clouds, her ruby earrings glinted in the sun. She tied up her hair with a red bandana, and wore a red legolia. As she was approaching, she found the crossbowman incapacitated on the sandy ground. He had a few cuts over his body, but luckily, he had on a piece of chain mail. Noticing a few fire boars approaching, the huntress reached for her backpack, but ended up grabbing only thin air. She quickly remembered that she had set her backpack down before starting to hunt. Two fire boars broke into a run towards the two after sniffing the blood in the air.

"Uh…" the huntress thought to herself, "maybe you have something?" She huddled closer to the injured body and started to search through his backpack. "Is it a return scroll?" she asked in a confused state as two pieces of rolled up parchment fell from the opening. The two fire boars had closed in around the two, and she realized that there was little time left. The huntress activated one scroll for the crossbowman. The scroll started glowing, and he disappeared, leaving behind light, glowing smoke.

One fire boar leapt across the packs and barely missed her open backside. "Wait, I'm not the one dying…" she stupidly realized as the other fire boar was closing in. The huntress quickly got up and tried to get a distance away from the fire boars. She took out her new bow, decorated with a red flower, and shot one arrow towards a confused fire boar. The huntress was happy to hear a squeaky voice shouting out for a happy birthday, which meant that she had hit her target. Now that her magic points had completely replenished, she found herself able to shoot another arrow bomb.

A few moments later, as the battleground grew quiet, the huntress was once again on her way. "Now, where did the scroll take him?" the huntress started wondering, but she had no time to think because a teleporting wizard had distracted her, and stopped right in front of her.

"Are you Huntress of BH?" the wizard quietly questioned, as he looked down at his shoes.

"Yea, that's me!" the huntress joyfully replied, with a sly smile on her face.

"Your new job is to get this boy," he said as he took out a screenshot, "He has discovered teleporting magic of a sort and we assume that he has plans to sell his information on eBay—err…I mean, ahem, the black market."

"Wait, can I see that picture real fast?" she asks the wizard.

"We found out that this boy is a crossbowman born on the Maple Islands," he solemnly said.

"Well, who isn't born there you idiot?" the huntress cried, "Anyways, I just saw the exact same guy. Yeah, I helped him out when he was about to die, that noob. But…oh shit! I used one of the teleporting scrolls in his bag to get him to safety…" she slowly realized…

Notes: Well, that was...the first chapter, which was so totally suspenseful wasn't it? Yeah, well...blah, happy now? You should review...because this is like, my first fan fiction...I'm serious, but it's kinda hard to tell right? Because I'm such a good writer...right?
