He didn't know why he did it.
He could have agreed with her. He could have said, "Of course I can, Sakura", to make her happy.
But he didn't.
When she asked him, eyes imploring and innocent, if he could 'paint with all the colors of the wind, Sasuke-kun?' he should have said yes. Then, he could have seen her bright smile, he could have seen her go on with her twenty questions game, he could have seen her happy.
But he didn't.
He, without thinking, turned his cold gaze onto hers and answered with a curt, "No, I can't."
And when she heard this, her light faded. Her happy smile faded into one of genuine disappointment, and her shoulder slumped as her eyes watered. He began to panic- Uchiha Sasuke did not do well with tears- and began to think of a way to fix it. Just as he heard a soft sniffle, his throat constricted painfully.
He knew she was only a year younger than him, he knew they were in high school, and he knew that watching Pocahontas at her house was a bad idea. But as her eyes watered and he saw her lip tremble pathetically, he couldn't help but think she looked like a little girl who just found out her parents were the one putting the presents under the tree at Christmas time.
Gently, he put a caring arm around his friend's shoulders and pulled her to him, touching his lips to her forehead. Her sniffles stopped, and he couldn't help but smile down at her confused expression.
"That's why you just have to teach me, Sakura-chan."

Yeah, mindless SasuSaku fluff. I was listening to Disney movie songs, so sue me. :) Oh, and did you all see that nifty new review button? I think you should test it, just to see if it works.
You know, just in case.
;D
