Quincy Archer Loves You
Disclaimer: I don't own Bleach.
A/N: XD I had a lot of fun describing those women.

Women are not weak.
She knows this because her best friend is Arisawa Tatsuki, national martial arts champion in the making. Tatsuki's fists can hold hollows at bay or die trying. If Kurosaki-kun was not a shinigami Tatsuki would still be able to kick his ass. Tatsuki can lift Orihime off the ground whenever she falls, D-cup breasts and all. Tatsuki doesn't cry. Tatsuki is so, so strong.
So when Ishida-kun steps in front of her to fight, she knows it's not because she's a woman, but because she is Orihime.
Women are not sweet.
She knows this because she studied under Shihouin Yoruichi for a while, when she was training with Sado-kun to go to Soul Society. Yoruichi-san's words could've cut glass, they were that tart. Mistakes were not tolerated; Yoruichi-san was a very strict teacher. Much stricter than what Orihime was used to. Yoruichi-san could be tender but she knew that in those ten days her students did not need tenderness. They needed fear and motivation, which she supplied so generously Orihime once burst into tears.
So when Ishida-kun holds her like she's breakable she knows it's not 'cause he thinks she will. She's just Orihime, who needs to be held that way.
Women are not delicate.
She knows this because Kuchiki Rukia is her dear, dear friend and Rukia-chan will often kick Kurosaki-kun in the face to show her affection. Rukia-chan is a lot of fun; she can put Kurosaki-kun at east with nothing but insults. Rukia-chan hides nothing, sometimes her opinions are spoken before they're fully formed. She is a dedicated, toughened combatant who won't flinch at the sight of blood or turn away when its metallic tang attacks her nose.
So when Ishida-kun tries to shield her from carnage, she knows it has nothing to do with her being female, and everything to do with the fact that Orihime cries over death.
Women are not submissive.
She knows this because Shiba Kukaaku-san is the undisputed master over everyone she meets. Everyone defers to her, this once-princess of fallen nobility who can still command all the authority of royalty. She barks orders, secure in her knowledge that they will be carried out to the letter without question. She doesn't think twice of disciplining total strangers like Kurosaki-kun because she is older and better than anyone that might stand before her. It's her responsibility to oversee other people and she carries her dominance with the grace of sovereign born into it.
So when Ishida-kun makes decisions without consulting her, she knows it's because he's confident his choices will win her approval.
Women do not have intuition.
This one she learnt from herself because she once thought Ishida-kun liked Rukia-chan when he had no thoughts, none, for anyone but her. Inoue Orihime could not read anyone's heart or mind or actions but she knew one thing beyond all need to affirm.
"Um, Inoue-san?"
It's a simple thing, really.
"Ah! Yes, Ishida-kun?"
His eyes were hidden behind his glasses, but it's okay because she memorized them a long time ago.
"Could you…could you call me Uryuu?"
Orihime knows one thing, and this is it.
"Oh! Ha-ha, yes! As long as you start calling me Orihime, too!"
"Yes…Orihime."
Ishida Uryuu loves her.
And that is all.

I like this pairing for the same reason I like Lee/Sakura. Because Uryuu should have what he wants. Plus also heartbroken Orihime makes me sad.
