Love Lost and Found

It was the best day of her life. And the worst day of his. She was getting married to her love of 2 years. He was watching his best friend and only true love get married. She had no clue he loved her. He was crushed. She was Gabriella. He was Troy.

"Troy? Are you listening?" Gabriella said.

"Yeah, sure." Troy said, but was distracted by her gorgeous dress.

"Yeah, okay. Well I was saying that I think my dress is too frilly, you know? Like it makes me look to girly." Gabriella complained.

Troy rolled his eyes. She always thought she looked weird. Even thought she looked perfect. Everything looked to girly or to fat or to ugly. But in Troy's eyes she was beautiful.

"Gabi, you look great. Ryan's going the luckiest guy on the planet." Troy said.

"Ha, Troy", Gabriella laughed. "Hey thanks for walking me down the aisle today. Since my dad can't exactly come…. Oh, Troy! I miss him so much! Why did he have to die?" Gabi started to sob.

"Come on Gabi. This is supposed to be the happiest day of your life! Don't cry." Troy put his arm around her and wiped her tears away.

"Thanks, Troy. You're really my best friend and if my dad can't be here I'm glad you can." She said with a faint smile. "Okay, let's get this show on the road."

They took their places behind the bridesmaids and flower girls as the music started to play. The large oak doors of the church opened wide and exposed the entire crowd of friends and family turning around to look at them.

"Are you ready?" Troy asked.

"As ready as I'll ever be." She answered.

They walked down the extremely long aisle. Ryan looked on with a look of love and a little sadness. What's his problem? Troy thought, although he felt horrible himself. Every step he took was another step towards loosing Gabriella. He wanted to rewind his life back to high school and college. He remembered all the good times they had. All before Ryan came along and stole his precious Gabi from him. He had all of these plans for them. He had thought that someday it would be him standing at the front of a church watching Gabriella walk towards him. But now his fantasies were lost in a sea of sadness.

Finally they were at the end of the aisle. He had to let go now. He had to sit down next to the rest of his friends. It was the hardest thing he had ever had to do. Troy walked to the bench, sat down, and tried to hold back his tears. Why was he doing this? She was happy and that was all he wanted for her. The question was if he would ever be happy without her.
