It was December 31st in Dragon Kingdom. All of the dragons are prepared to celebrate New Year's Day.

Spyro loved New Year's Day because he and his friends celebrate at midnight after a countdown. And speaking of New Year's Day, he had gotten himself ready after his friends. He had taken a bath and had breakfast.

Spyro arrived to see all of his friends by the door.

"Glad you can make it, Spyro," Cynder smiled.

"Thanks, Cynder," Spyro smiled.

"Hey, Spyro," Hunter said, "are you ready to celebrate New Year's Day?"

"You bet I am. And I'm sure Sparx is ready to celebrate, too."

"Hey, speaking of Sparx, where is he?"

"Here I am," Sparx said, flying toward the dragons and the cheetah. "I was just taking a bath after Spyro."

"After me? Sparx, you are a rascal," Spyro chuckled.

"Well, at least that's what friends are for."

"Master Spyro," Elder Thomas said, "I'm glad to see you prepared."

"Thanks, Elder Thomas," Spyro grinned. "I'm always happy to celebrate New Year's Day."

"Good to hear that. Now report to the table."

Spyro and his friends arrived at the table and sit at it.

"I'm so happy to celebrate," Ember said.

"So am I," Flame said.

"Me too," Spyro said.

"I am, too," Cynder said.

Minutes later, other dragons showed up and sat at their tables. The music was later played. As the dragons have dinner, Spyro and his friends chat. And so did the others.

"So, you see, Terrador," Ignitus said to Terrador, "when it comes to being a Guardian Dragon, he has to be like one."

"That's true, Ignitus," Terrador nodded.

"Could it make a difference?" Volteer asked. "I mean, not all dragons want to be Guardian Dragons. No one thinks to each other, and no one believes that. Every dragon in the world of dragons celebrate holidays and days like New Year's Day. I imagine that some dragons can be excitable like Spyro, but not some dragons are excitable. It's just a celebration."

"They've been saying that last year," Cyril said. "I mean, come on, Spyro's not much excitable. He's just, uh, excitable."

"Yes, and he always get excited to celebrate holidays and days like Christmas, for example," Ignitus nodded, "but it always works when we tell him to control his mind and stay calm."

"Does that equal anything?"

"Cyril, you sound like you're stupid."

"Give me a break, Ignitus. I'm not stupid."

Moments later, it was close to midnight. All of the dragons stood up.

"This is gonna be the best night ever!" Spyro said excitedly.

"Now I know why you're excited, Spyro," Cynder giggled.

"Here we go!" Elder Thomas announced.

All of the dragons started counting down. "10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. HAPPY NEW YEAR!" They all roared happily as the music played. Cynder and Spyro kissed, and Ember and Flame kissed. Then they all sang "Auld Lang Syne" with the other dragons.

After the celebration, Spyro and his friends went to go to sleep.

"What a wonderful night," Spyro sighed. "I'll never forget it."

"Neither will I," Cynder said.

"That was a great song and celebration," Flame said.

After the conversation, everyone went to sleep. They will never forget the night on New Year's Day.
