"im still in love with you"

The words that had shocked the hell out of her. She had left the tea room in a hurry and 5 days later she still didnt know what to say to him.

It was the day of Kerry's funeral and the church was packed with people. The service was yet to begin and Charlotte spotted Frank near the the alter, she walked up to him.

"how is he?" she asked Frank as they both looked toward Nelson who was standing outside.

"not very good" Frank replied.

The service began a few minutes later, Charlotte, clearly avoiding Vincent sat on the pews parralel and adjacent to where Vincent was sitting on the otherside of th aisle, she could see him glance at her a few times but did not respond. There was hardly a dry eye through the sermons. Eventually it was Franks turn to say a few words.

"we are gathered here today" he began, "to pay respects to a woman, whom we all knew...she was a neice, a wife to be, but to most of us she was someone we knew, as a friend. And its not fair that such a women as Kerry should hafta leave..."

Nelson and Von looked at the casket sadly, from their seats in the front row.

"But by leaving she has taught us something," Frank continued, "Life really is too short, and we have to make the most out of it. Treasure every moment we share, love; because you can, the people in our lvies are so so important, you never now how much time you have left, so never forget to tell them thta you love them..."

Charlotte took in these words thoughtfully and she looked to Vincent, thinking about how much he meant to her, she wasnt sure how she felt about him but she knew that he was an important part of her and always would be. Sensing something, Vincent turned to look her, Charlotte felt as if he was feeling the same thing she was. Their eyes locked.

"And live...for those who cant."

A day later, things were gloomy at All Saints. The emergency department was having a painfully slow day and everyone was quiet. Nelson and Von hadnt shown up to work. Jess and Cate were seeing to patients and Dan was catchin gup with paperwork moaning and groaning the whole way through. Charlotte was at the computer when Frank broke the silence.

"Come on," he yelled, "Where are the bloody nurses when you need em! Charlotte how many times have i paged you already!"

Charlotte looked her paiger and back up at Frank.

"Well dont just sit there, i need your assignment by tonight!"

"you'll have it"

"And your patient Margaret in bed 2 in complaining of a headache...and its catching on!"

"im on it Frank," She got up from the computer, picked up a few of her files and turned the corner in a hurry, running straight into none other than Vincent. Her files scattered across the floor and they both bent down to pick em up.

"hey..." Said Vincent

"hi" said Charlotte awkwardly.

"i didnt see you after the funeral yesterday," vincent looked up at her.

"um, i had to rush back to work, busy day yesterday" Charlotte replied.

"well do you wanna catch up after work today?"

"i cant, i have a double shift" she lied quickly, still collecting her notes and files.

"Well feel free to take your time Charlotte!" Frank yelled moodily, "im sure your patient wont mind waiting for you!"

"Charlotte and Vincent stood up together, having picked up all of her files.

"um, i hafta go vincent, i'll catcha later," and with one last look she was gone, leaving Vincent stunned.
