She's Not Gabe
She's not Gabe.
The realization first hits Diana when she is holding her baby daughter, humming a song she always used to hum for Gabe. Suddenly, it is so clear that this infant is not her son, and Diana just wants nothing to do with her. All she wants to do is hide in her room and cry.
So she does. She hands Natalie to Dan, curls up on her bed, and sobs. It lasts for days—she refuses to get up, to attempt to live her life again.
Dan never stops trying to comfort his wife—first by trying to get Diana to accept the reality that Gabe is gone and Natalie is here, then giving up on that and just trying to get Diana to take a shower and change her clothes.
Finally, when nothing else works, Dan lifts Diana's head up to face him and says "Di, I'm going to take you to a doctor. You need more help than I can give you."
